But still when VU did their homework good is should work right a way with OpenPli... Just like the browser from ET does where it is a simple plugin and does not need patches in the image and/or enigma2 itself...

The commits from Vu+

Changes to the .cpp and .h datas are unfortunately not my strength

At least in pmt.cpp there are differences as far I can see... So I suggest VU did not do good homework as they did change too much in enigma2.. And also the HBBTV converter and so on is not a plugin like implementation.... So there might be some bad news....

And still ET proves that some changes in E2 are not required at all....

And when this is required for their implementation than there is a big chance it will not work.... And while we also support DMM and ET we cannot simply make changes to Enigma2...

But still a big part of the patch -at least the red button stuff- is simply taken from OpenPLi.... (Why didn't they not do the rest??? - but I still not sure if that rest is really required).

Hi littlesat,
take a look at http://www.rbsoft.de/hbbtv.zip these pakages are need. These are the pakages needed for the Ultimo. They install just fine but I cannot say if they work.

Main problem for me is enigma2-plugin-extensions-hbbtv which tries to integrate hbbtv into the infobar -> GS-Loop:-(

WARNING DO NOT TRY IT UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO RECOVER FROM A GS-LOOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

ciao

Forgive me, but I am a little confused:
If hbbtv works in OpenPLI for the ET boxes, why doesn't it work for Vu? They both are using the same browser so it seems to me, there cannot be licensing issues involved. So why doesn't OpenPLI work the same on all boxes?
Is there really a hardware problem in the implementation?
I was under the impression, OpenPLI was an independant image. What am I missing?
Thanks
Umtauscher

The HbbTV plugin which is allready online in our downloads was made by Xtrend, now you can guess why it doesn't work on other manufacturers hardware...

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

As far I can see for the VU we need to modify our Enigma2 regards the red button support. I'm scared that this might be note done for us.... This is based by just observing the code....

Main problem for me is enigma2-plugin-extensions-hbbtv which tries to integrate hbbtv into the infobar -> GS-Loop:-(

We cannot help that VU did not make this OpenPLi compatible...? Oven with the zap mode. When they did use the same stuff als we already had then it can be used right away.... But VU must make it a littlebit difference... even when they "copy" a feature... When they just based it then on the current existing systems (use the same names etc) then nobody needs to make exceptions in enigma2 code, and enigma2 itself can stay somehow platform undependend...

Anyway: at the moment the HbbTV support by VU+ is only in a beta-state, and doesn't support all channels with HbbTV.
