Hello there.
What if someone wants to design a skin for his dreambox 7020 and a different user interface of the openPLi image ?
Are there any reference manuals and howto’s to design the skin and develope the UI or is the system closed and only for the openPLi developers?

2nd year in graphic design… would be a good oportunity

The good thing about open source: you don't need to write manuals :)

The bad thing about open source, users are sometimes lost in not knowing what wonderful things developers have come up with

yes, but compare that with closed source, in that case you wouldn't even know the developers were doing anything ;)

Anyway, afaik there is no (relevant) documentation. You'd best have a look in existing skins, preferrably in the PLi-HD skin, because that one is best taylored to OpenPLi.

ok thank you for your replies
but iam also interested in changing the user interface of the men
for example to change the way it appears or behaves via the remote. is that possible?
its convenient enough to select the menus with the button numbers from the remote but for me another way is equally convenient and with the right design i think it could be a nice alternative.

Designing is also describing what you want to achieve. In terms like 'another way is equally convenient' is maybe a bit to general...

So explain in more detail what you want to try so others can respond if that would be possible or that it might require major changes in the way enigma2 takes care of the gui and input devices.
Geen wonder... Had slechts een dm7000, maar wel ook een rotor. eigenlijk al een tijdje ook een dm600 en dm7025. Maar nu kijkend met een et9000 en vuduo

It’s more like changing the layout of things , the way they are organized and selected.
For instance when i press the menu button , a different layout to appear for the menu… more like android/ios style , like icons in a grid or like mac or windows menus.
and the submenus to organize them in the way i want and style them accordingly

I dont want to mess with input devices.
Im more into aesthetics and UI.

How much developers do you have?
Ever thought about Openpli UI took some years to develop, based on availablke UI/sources?
And if you're talking something general new like Android, you need hundreds or thousands of developers
