Single core 500MHz. So most things it will actually do faster than the dual cores. The difference isn't likely to be noticable, as usually you'll only have one task running (the GUI) that needs the CPU.

Interesting, so if you had to choose between this box and another box with the soc BRCM4380 405mhz dual-core, which one would you choose??

thanks

If Enigma2 can't take advantage of dual core configuration, with what it will help you "BRCM4380 405mhz dual-core" ?The answer it's clear to me,buy what suits your needs (display ,hdd,e-sata,sci ,plug'n'play tuners...),not for X Ghz or quad core.Cheers!

Enigma2 can (and will) use multiple cores. It's the user that usually isn't doing several things at the same time.

If you're downloading movies from the box while using it to browse youtube movies at the same time, the dual-core may shine. Things like recording and watching use so little CPU, you won't notice the difference.

I can't determine which box is better because I do not own a XP1000 yet.
The ET4000 works ok but the XP 1000 has, besides a cardreader also a CI slot. Could be positive for future purposes. ;)
As I heard, the other specs are almost thesame.

Hello alsat1 ;)

Since PliTeam supports them both (et4000 and xp1000), If I would make this choice, I would simply go for the one which cost less.
They have almost same spec, so hbbtv and webrowser is possible on both.

But if you want your box now, just go for the et4000. Xtrend has an established reputation now.
I don't know who produce xp1000, but I don't think they have a website or a dedicated support forum yet.

Xtrend ET-5000 // OpenPli 4

As I heard it should be somewhere between € 160.- to € 190.-, but don't blame me if I'm wrong. ;)

Hi,

Just one question:

I observe that both ET4000 ans XP1000 are compatible OpenGL2 versus OpenGL 1.1 for the rest of the STB..

What is the expeted benefit from this feature?

ET6000 mounted in triple tuners with DVB-S2 Anysee E7 S2 + DVB-T Twintech UT30

enigma2 does not make use of opengl, so it will not benefit from the new features.
