No, no, not so good results, I read, especially in bad weather... I meant mechanically different LNB holders for T90, so we do not have to improvise with various LNB rails, like the image attached...

The way how to builds these LNB are described on the site of a satellite club "detransponder" in the Netherlands.
See "Specials".

There are 3 articles related to this subject in the last years. See:

2011:

- "Inkorten lnb-houder en test Megasat-lnb.pdf (T55 en T90)"
(Shortening lnb holder and test Megasat-lnb.pdf (T55 and T90))

- "Extra smalle LNB-houder voor LNBs met 23 mm hals.pdf (T55 en T90)"
(Extra narrow LNB LNB holder with 23 mm hals.pdf (T55 and T90))

2012:
- "Nog een 'extra' smalle LNB-houder voor LNBs met 23 mm hals.pdf"
(Another "extra" narrow LNB LNB holder with 23 mm hals.pdf)

If something is not clear because it in the Dutch language, pleas let me know (translation to English).

Please be aware of some troubles related to the length of the small Racket Twin LNB (like Megasat and others) on specific spots of the rail on the WaveFrontier T55/T90 dish.

Se for details:
"detransponder.nl" and there "Nieuwsbrieven - UP/DOWNLINK" - "jaargang 2011" - "nummer 15", see Page 11 - 15.

I went through those articles (online translation to English is perfectly readable) and this is great to see, esp. this one: http://www.detranspo...t 23mm hals.pdf - a very detailed description, with images!

However, this is all about the narrow, specific LNBs (two types). What my installer did (see images above) was to set it up much more elegantly, a much easier way of doing it but for "normal size" LNBs, too! Distance: 2 degrees, as with the narrow LNBs.

And this is what I wanna do now, as I said, since I read that those narrow head LNBs are not exactly the best thing since sliced bread, as we can read...

Silly me, I only ordered 2 of those rails, for extreme sat positions but not the third one... grrrr... And in Luxembourg I can't find them anywhere...

It isn't that bad actually. It works quite good for my 7E.

Using the normal holders, I don't see how you'd get 2 degrees?

Who said I wanna do it using the "normal" LNB holders?

I will do it using the rails, as seen on my pics.

But I think it should be possible to redesign the original T90 LNB holders, so they allow 2 degrees distance, with normal size LNBs, like SMART Titanium 0.1 dB LNBs. If I can get it using a rail it must be possible with a differently designed T90 LNB holder. Less plastic at the base (narrower) and less plastic holding/gripping the LNB neck. Thinner! Voila! (It doesn't even has to be plastic...) :)

If you look closely, you will see the rail in the middle of the dish, not just for the extreme sat positions.

That way you get 2 degrees without all the kerfuffle with cutting and drilling etc.

So, the middle one doesn't use T90 LNB holder but a slider... :)

Much more elegant, less messing about and effective!

See it attached here, highlighted... ;)

Ah yes I see. Still it's not as narrow as a 23 mm lnb in a special narrow lnb holder.

This one is a "normal" (but excellent and cheap!) Smart Titanium 0.1 dB LNB and it can give you the 2 degrees difference, so there is no need for a "special", narrow, expensive LNB and a lot of messing about with the T90 LNB holder. You don't need any of that. Just the slider rail and 2 holders for it (they come in a package with the slider rail, actually 3 of those holders).

And it will give you better results, guaranteed! Because it works better in bad weather!

Narrower than that one doesn't need with T90, as 1.5 degrees can be caught with a single LNB.

Ah yes, now I recognise them, they are not especially for the wavefrontier, they're generic for adding more lnb's to a setup that already has the maximum.

Thanks.

Or one needs the LNB distances to be smaller than 3 degrees... ;)

I must quickly find/buy one before there is a (last) bit of good weather (this year) and installer (maybe) comes to mess with it all...

Hope he finishes before New Year's Eve... at this tempo... who bloody knows... ?!?
