Is there anyway to get PiP to work with http services in a one tuner only receiver?

Devices that have one, fixed tuner, have only one videodecoder, so PiP is not possible.

sure, as long as the http service is a 'ts' service.
If you put a remote ts service in your bouquet list, you can select 'play service as picture in picture' in the service list context menu.

as I said, only for ts streams. Other formats use gstreamer / dvbmediasink, which is hardcoded to the first decoder, so no PiP.

(and in fact, you can just use the normal PiP functions under the blue key, when you activate PiP while watching an http ts stream, you get the same stream in the PiP. And then you can zap either with the normal screen, or the PiP screen. Just like with 'normal' services.)

(and what doesn't work is running such a service while playing a movie from harddisk...) ;)

Sure it does :)
But you need a trick to get into the service list.

Try the following:
start pvr playback.
press blue + blue (activate PiP).
You'll get the 'current' tv channel.
Now press blue + red (switch focus to PiP)
press bouquet+/- or up/down, and now you have a service list.
Scroll to your remote http ts stream, and select it.
It will be played in the PiP screen.

I already figured out something similar, I get the picture that's not the problem, but it stops immediately after one frame. With either this method or mine.

I am currently testing with the cam in my son's bedroom, I make it produce a transport stream with mpeg2 inside, it runs fine in the main window, also when used as PiP in a "normal" service, but together with a pvr service, it freezes.

I don't have any other stream to test with at the moment, will try a remote stream shortly.

Yep succeeded to add a "proper" remote stream (from the other box) and yep exactly the same phenomenom, one frame and then nothing.

Also when viewing main program from pvr?

I'll try the other way around some time (ultimo as client, dm8000 as remote stream server).

yes, any combination.
Should not make a difference, from the 2nd video decoder point of view, what is currently playing on the first decoder.
