If you can't find it in the software management, perhaps it'll be easier in telnet?
opkg update
opkg list | grep vlc
... and if found...
opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-vlcplayer
... or whatever the name is, but I's expect it to be the same...
Good luck,

Hi, I found a few but not what I'm looking for.
enigma2-plugin-extensions-newtube = the youtube player ( only videos)
enigma2-plugin-extensions-vlcplayer = the streaming player (vlc yes)
enigma2-plugin-extensions-vlcplayer-dev = fails as I miss the libs
enigma2-plugin-extensions-vlcplayer-staticdev installed OK but no clue where it is , not in plugins
I need the vlc to play my flac files without any streaming server.
as it's open source it should be possible to kompile it rite?

1. vlcplayer interfaces with a vlc server running on a PC, apparently that's not what you want anyways.
2. My Dm800, and I assume other models, play flac files "natively", no plugins required. Just navigate to the desired file in the PVR like it was a normal recording.

I got a vu+ uno running openpli 3, kernel 3.1.1
I have been able to play normal cd quality flac in openpli 2, but no go in the latest version.
I also got a lot of "high" quality flac. some of em I've been able to play a minute b4 they start bugging sound but this was'nt with openpli. I can't remember what img I used who played the start of my HQ flacs
I also got a few .MLP files who I've been unable to play other then in vlc on my computer.
I think there may be some codec probs?

Well, you have read the other thread about this; that reveals that flac (and ogg for that matter) are supported by the drivers and work well under OI & PLi 2.x.Af far I understand the codec Flac is not supported in the drivers from the VU...
But apparently a codec update would be required to have it to work under OE2.0 and PLi 3.0 based images; the request for that has been sent to VU+ by multiple users (but feel free to do the same request: the more the better).

I am pretty certain the problem is only with gstreamer-0.10.36 which is in use in openpli 3, (it was 0.10.35 in openpli 2.1) as lots of users have problem playing files with openpli 3.
I hope for either a come back to 0.10.35 or a try to 1.0.1 which might be good also (gentoo's linux for example is still using 0.10.35 even in there experimental part).
