How can I upgrade from openpli 2.1 to 3.0?

I know that I have to flash and loose all my settings but how can I restore my settings back?
I have backedup all my settings by using backup of openpli 2.1?

Can i use restore from openpli 3.0 and get all my settings back?

Which box are you talking about? And with an internal harddisk in it?

you can use the plugin autobackup with autoinstall enabled, after flash install autobackup, you can use the restore option inside the autobackup plugin then (i thought, not 100% sure, to long a go i used it with 500HD)

No need to install after flash, autobackup is already in the image, during first boot the backup will be restored automaticly

I upgraded my box today, flashing the new image, and the autobackup plugin worked like a charm. It downloaded the extra ipk packages and restored my settings automatically.

Everything was up and running in just a few minutes. Thanks to all the developers for the excellent job!

No, not from network, because network is still not running when restore backup start.

OLD topic, but one question..

I have the 500HD Dreambox, and want to upgrade to 3.0. Don't have any hdd on the network. Will the Autobackup tool work anyway? I mean, where should it put the backup? root?

Reflashing by definition overwrites the contents of the flash. A backup wouldn't survive the operation there...

Write the backup to a USB disk? That sounds easy enough..
