There is a bug in ext4 files system using kernel 3.6.3 and maybe other kernels which have backported things (see http://heise.de/-1736310 or https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/10/23/690).
Is the new kernel for Xtrend images affected by this?

the most recent kernel which we use is 3.6.0.
And since the introduction of 3.6.0 for the xtrends, we haven't had any updates to the kernels of the other brands (3.5.1 (xp), 3.2.31 (dmm), 3.1.1 (vu)).
So we can be certain that the faulty commit (introduced in 3.6.3) has not made it into any of 'our' kernels.
