Please reply me to one simple question.
You can return to the level of playing video PLI 2.1, or is it impossible?
If you say no, then I'll buy a media player.

Be patient is another solution...
With the current stage I do not have problems (but you need to reflash as opk cannot downgrade - with help of autobackup/install this is a peace of a cake)
For me it is back to the 2.1 level.....

Is it ready do download?
I mean, last info was that your team was working on a solution to downgrade the needed modules before build process - was that done?

what we're currently working on, is downgrade the offending glib-2.0 version (which was not intended to end up in the image in the first place).
However, opkg cannot handle downgrades.
So
1. we need to start a clean build on our buildservers, and
2. users will have to make a clean flash (when the new builds have completed).

Is this ready?
Just asking because most of us don't dare to update or to download anything, until there's no info about that...

DTS-HD and DTS-ES still don't work. This is a big limitation.

When a commit http://openpli.git.s...f497aee9f6bf2ec is done and the next build is ready ,you can be sure that it is ready.

You mean dts-HD and dts-Es downmix? I suppose you can better convert the stream in the mkv with your pc... As the Mips processor needs to perform the downmix...

I mean files with DTS-HD and DTS-ES soudtrack won't start to play. Nothing happens. They work fine with OpenPLi 2.1
I have a Vu+ Uno, but last time I checked it was the same with ET9000 and DM800SE. But this was before the commit, that is mentioned here. Is this only Vu+ problem now?

That was the my question above.
I have a lot of video files that work for PLi 2.1 and do not run on the PLi 3.0 (software installed this morning, new).

So posibly when there is a workaround for these special dts formats openpli 3.0 is performance better for mkvs... Put were they playable at 2.1 with downmix and are the playable on 3.0 without downmix...?

Return the level of 2.1 and all the questions over.
These talks have been going on for three months, but nothing has changed.
Hundreds of people are waiting for the decision.
People got used to all the video files before played.
You have deprived them of this opportunity.
And for owners of ET, there is no alternative but openPli.
I received dozens of letters to the negative remarks against openPli about it.
People do not understand why it can not be fixed.
By good very quickly get used to :) .

I want to add.
This is not my personal opinion.
I am trying all means to protect openPli from such attacks.
But ...

I completely agree with this opinion. This is the view of many people ... I believe it can be fixed.

Remember that this development is hobby , and hobbies takes time in our spare free time!

We are working on it but the problem is bigger then just changing some version numbers....!!!

Did you try to flash latest builds, so not via an online update?

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

Excuse me, but ...
This is not the solution.
It's just a bug fix, not more.
Apparently level openPLi 2.1 will never happen.
And at the moment is the main disadvantage openPLi.
Huge minus ...

there is more investigation and development going on behind non-public scenes...
you just have to wait for our further investigation!

OK, no problem waiting, but how will we be notified of the results?
As you see, previous fix "has been ready since around the 15th of december", but not a single note to the forum members waiting for it...
