interesting is that everything is ok on dm500hd with the openpli 3.0 from 21-10-2012... is there any difference in gstreamer used on vuduo and dm500hd? or is it again drivers or kernel version?

Format .mkv Vu + Duo I did not notice the problem, there is a problem with .flac http://openpli.org/f...dd/page__st__20 , the best media player was OpenPLi 2.1

I too am having hard times playing video files. I'm on Vu+ DUO and the recordings tend to pixelate, the picture falls apart completely. AVIs and MKVs tend to freeze and the sound disappears every now and then. I'm considering going back to 2.1...

Maybe OpenPLI 2.1 daily updates have to return, since 2.1 now no longer receives any updates for enigma2 etc.
If 3.0 is flawed (at least from the media player perspective), 2.1 has to be up-to-date.
Personally, I have no problem with media playback in my ET9200.

DTS downmix is working on OpenPli 3.0 op ET boxes... but it could be that you need to clear the gstreamer cache... This can be done by restarting enigma2 via the menu....

I must confirm that in the current release the dts downmix doesn't work. There are plenty of users with this problem in the German forum. When I installed around 2 weeks ago the latest daily it was working (as far I remember) but unfortunately I don't know which one it was as this was my first pli with my first et6500.

I tried on ET9000.... DTS downmix is working.... When it is not working please restart enigma2 via the user interface to clear the gstreamer cache....

Strangely, 100500 users in many topics say gstreamer works badly (sound choppy, no rewinding, some files do not open), and we are told "everything works OK," and in fact it works on version 2.1, why should impair that already worked?

Its not a generally DTS Problem. But many files .mkv with DTS are incompatible with PLI 3.0 so you need to update the gstreamer. So please dont say reboot.... and the problem is solved
