Hello,

As an old Pli Jade fan on Dreamboxes, I am a bit surprised by several isolated (but annoying) "holes" in the key bindings of OpenPli3.0 on the Ultimo.
(Here I am talking about the big, numeric remote, not the smaller QWERTY one, which is crippled anyway)

(1) "TV" key no longer starts the service list

(2) once in service list, the numeric keypad works *only* for digits; hitting the TV key at this spot enables the alphanum interpretation of numeric keys. In Pli Jade, the alphanum mode was default.

Apologies for following a diagonal here - moving both from PliJade to OpenPli3.0 and from DM to Vu+; but checking all the combinations is not practical.
Also, notice that (1) is rather easily fixed (I did in keymap.xml), but (2) is not: is it some hardwired behavior ?

2) is a long standing bug in the VU+ drivers. Numeric and Alphanumeric are two different device types, and the VU drivers create the wrong one.

Has been reported to VU+ a zillion times, but no fix, as it works in their image (they've just hardcoded a workaround in Enigma, which we can't do since it will break it for all other platforms).

Thanks. A developer myself, I'd happily port their hack under an #ifdef if I could. I'd appreciate any information to locate it (assuming their image is open source).

we refuse to use #ifdef constructions to solve manufacturers drivers or coding problems
it's up to them to follow the general code, api's and other international standards

I don't think alex was suggesting PLi add a workaround, rather he'd add it to his own build IF he could find out what the workaround is...
