Hello,

I would like to propose a build to the Amstrad DRX890, witch is a receiver widely available, and most of all inexpensive. The base of this particular receiver is the Broadcom BCM7335, and seems that the main pcb uses the reference design. It has a 512Mb flash, 2 sets of 128M word 16 bit DDR2 ( 512 MB, i think) and a second memory bank of 512Mb (witch i think is used to dump the Flash, but its only a guess). The tuner is the BCM3445 witch is part of the reference design.

The hardware is similar to the specs of the VU duo, so it could be a build based on the VU. There is also a jtag port, i think that would be invaluable.

I would like to know from the "project Masters" if this is doable, and were should i start?

Tanks,
Xicorpt

You should start by the manufacture and ask for drivers for e2 platform.
When this step is made you can try to build the image.

And if the hardware used on the amstrad equal the hardware used on the vu+ duo, can it be done? I know for fact that the cpu it's a match, the dual tunner is also the same.

When it's a 100% clone then it's possible. Otherwise you need the drivers from your manufacture first to go to the next step.
