There is the flashexpander plugin that seems to work on other OE3 images, but it does not work on Pli (green screen). Maybe we should try to convince the developper to port it properly to Pli. (but how?)

With 9MB free, you still have plenty room to spare...

As for "expanding", the simplest thing to do is insert a USB stick, have the box format it, and move some directories to it and add symlinks from internal to usb.

Yes.

So don't go that way until your flash actually runs out. Which is very unlikely to happen. Don't meddle with "expanders" until you really, really, really need one.

I want move folder Extensions on to usb where also is epg and picons.
I copied folder Extenesions from /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/ to /media/usb/ and I make a symlink from root to /media/usb/Extensions/ so can I delete now folder Extenesions from /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/? Is this will work when I will do that and reboot the box?Folder Extensions on my box have 11mb so if I will move it to usb I will have about 20mb free which is very good.please reply.

Yes.no problem.

Follow commands in telnet:
mv /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions /media/usb
mv /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages /media/usb
ln -sfn /media/usb/Extensions /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions
ln -sfn /media/usb/site-packages /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages
init 3

This is for usb if You want move extensions to hdd need change in command to hdd etc
Tested on pli 3.0 and working very good also I make a software update all ok.In flash about 20mb free with a lot of plugins installed(I use them all like lcd4linux).Before was about 6mb free(after lcd4linux installed).
Regards.

You no need to format your pendrive,I had the same like You-epg and picons and also swap file on usb and after that commads just extensions folder and site-packages folder is added.

It is really working. In my DM800se remains just 1MB (DVB-T2 tuner, HD Glass 16 skin) free memory and I can not more make update. All time receive no more free memory. Now I have free about 6MB free. Even I did backup with dFlash and it is OK

Look at before and after

openpli 4 DM800se

hi i have dreambox 800 hd original beta 2.1 image(not 800se)  and i made the following command as described above to expand the memory to hdd as above like other people

mv /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions /media/hdd
mv /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages /media/hdd
ln -sfn /media/hdd/Extensions /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions
ln -sfn /media/hdd/site-packages /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages
init
3

i tryed first command by dcc/telnet this happened:root@dm800:/# mv /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions /media/hdd

mv: can't remove '/media/hdd/Extensions': Is a directory
i tryed second command too,this happened:   root@dm800:/# mv /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages /media/hdd
mv: can't rename '/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages': No such file or directory
as i am not skill person just want to follow simple rules,so what i have to do now,do i have to install open pli 4,which i don,t think i can flash my box with this ,becouse when i go to download dreambox image ,open pli4 is for 800se not for 800hd
