I didn't manage to change the aspect in the media player.
I use the aspect ratio changer plugin but this seems to work only for tv.
how do I change the aspect ratio in the media player?

hmm.
the arrows just below the numbers switch to the next / previous chapter (of a video dvd)
the right / left arrows on the left / right / up / down / ok field do nothing at all.

I don't think it can be adjusted from inside the mediaplayer, you have to exit it, adjust how you'd like it, then go back into mediaplayer, or you could just use the DVR function like you were playing a recording, rather than use the mediaplayer...
