Hi,I read vc1 which is a MS codec version for bluray and not all boxes can play it as far as I know. I gave my Ultimo a VC1 rip and only heard sound but did not see an image.

Summary: mp4 with avc at ~24fps inside + aac (2 channel). I have similar files and indeed, they should work.

No, you're mixing up two things.
vc1 = microsoft
avc = mpeg
vc1 = microsoft
avc = mpeg

MEDIASUBTYPE_AVC1 'AVC1' H.264 bitstream without start codes. MEDIASUBTYPE_H264 'H264' H.264 bitstream with start codes.There is a slight difference between these two. I will take a look at my BR rip what media info shows there.

h264 = avc, avc1 is the "apple" aka "mp4" nomenclature. It is really the same codec.
EDIT: there are two ways to include h264 into an mp4 container, one is with and one is without avc headers, I guess this is what they mean. The titles "avc1" and "h264" are probably referring to the relevant mp4 atoms.

fourcc is something of avi, it has nothing to do with mp4. Many programs "emulate" the fourcc because people are used to it, but it really has nothing to do with mp4.

Considering the same mp4 files that played last week & don't play now, point 3 seems correct.Let me try to wrap it up.

Just to confirm that all my MP4 files do not play with the latest Open VIX 3.0 latest build, on GigaBlue Quad.

I might be wrong here, but I thought that Andy Blac's OpenVIX 3.0 is based on OpenPLi code/structure or something like that.

This is not something that can be totally fixed in a few days. If you follow the git commit logs, you can see all sorts of activity to be able to include gstreamer 1.0, which may fix the problem or may not, that still has to be seen.

opkg install gst-plugins-good-isomp4 --force-reinstall
all working great
