Hello, I'd like to know if this box will have support from OpenPLi. If yes, when? If no, why?

Thanx.

The vendor has to do the work first, and as of now we haven't seen any activity in that area.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Come one guys I have my solo2 now for 4 days and I have BH on it but I want PLi.

I have two db500 with pli, two db800 with pli, VU+Duo with pli.

Really need pli for my solo2, best and most stable image by far.

This receiver is on sale for days... you can't expect everyting to be available first day. It's a logical consequence of buying the latest and greatest. Have some patience...

Of course. Just thinking is there some "politics" which why Solo2 will not be supported or something else. Like GB is not supported by OpenPli.

and example OpenViX will not release image to VU+ before Marusys starts acting like real company. ViX image is only internal at the moment, it is real deal but will
not be released to public.

ViX coder said that Vu+ does not offer enough of support and their drivers are full of hacks. Here is the answer why there are no images from ViX. And why there are no images from PLi? I guess PLi guys are waiting for Vu+ patches. It was the same with 3.1.1 kernel which was added when Vu+ delivered.

This is the Vix version.
I think these kind od issues have to be solved in pvt with companies.
To make in public that kind of aggressive posts sounds like a blackmail and i think that it is not wise and polite.

As far as I know, it is an openpli forum, not a forum for Vu+ lovers.
You don't have to agree with me, but it is not the reason to start a hate talk here.

IMHO they will never learn if we buy their products first and demand later.
There are other manufacturers who are doing a better job than Marusys.

Reading between the lines it sounds like you have a real problem with Marusys / Vu+ for some reason.

I thought this thread was simply asking when OpenPLi would be supporting the Solo2 or would they be doing the same as the ViX team and boycotting it for some reason.

I think you should think about your posts. Everyone here have his own preferences about products and companies.
I have my preference and i received too bad actions from other comapnies.
But i don't go around in sat boards to offence one company or asking to other to boycott products.
This is not polite.

If I was manufacturing an engima based box, before releasing it in public I would send preproduction models to some lead programmers of popular opensource images.
Along with latest drivers and request to give some feedback. Once the box is released the customers can enjoy their new toy with the image of their choice.

But perhaps this is already done but the drivers are still crap?!
