Right. Finally managed to make this work on my solo2 using long mode and with mgcamd. All available channels open but no sound on the HD ones. I've no idea why but this box definitely clears AAC-HE audio on other channels that also use it although with cccam 2.30 but not with any of the previous versions. Hope this helps someone with enough knowledge to crack this up.

Cheers

As mentioned earlier in thread, long mode relies on cached PIDs in lamedb. Problem is, that E2 cannot cache HE-AAC PIDs there (MPEG and AC3 are possible only).

Hi kota,

what image are you using on your vu?

still have problems with the script. before they've changed to scrambled pmt I never got it clear with mgcamd, only worked with ymod.

Hiya

I'm using both BH 2.0.8.1 and Open PLI 4.0. Not in meoboot though. I've got full image backups on two usb sticks and I reflash as I please in a matter of seconds.

Funny thing is I haven't been able to make it work on the latter using exactly the same lamedb and softcam.key I use on the former and I still need to figure out why.

Anyway, make sure you place the softcam.key file in the usr/keys folder where the mgcamd.config is and be careful editing your lamedb. The entries should look like this for the HD channels:

4500:0cfdace7:1000:0001:25:0
Channel 4 HD
p:Channel 4 Broadcasting,c:00189d,c:01189e,c:03189d,c:050001,f:4

4600:0cfdace7:1000:0001:25:0
BBC Three HD
p:BBC,c:001b59,c:011b5a,c:031b59,c:050001,f:4

4440:0cfdace7:1000:0001:25:0
BBC Two HD
p:BBC,c:0017d5,c:0117d6,c:0317d5,c:050001,f:4

4484:0cfdace7:1000:0001:25:0
BBC One HD
p:BBC,c:0019c9,c:0119ca,c:0319c9,c:050001,f:4

44c8:0cfdace7:1000:0001:25:0
ITV1 HD
p:ITV,c:001839,c:01183a,c:031839,c:050001,f:4

Cheers

I know that doublet and many thanks for your help. I still need to try short mode even tough you say it only works with dreamboxes but I will definitely like to give it a try anyway. Could you please run me thought it again ??? What's the exact scrip name and does it also go into the usr/bin folder ?? Which is the right command you need to telnet to make it run ?? I understand you will also need to remove the f:4 bit on your lamedb entries, right ??

Cheers

reckon I've answered my own question. Tried short mode and it doesn't work at all. I'll call it a day for the time being.

Thanks all the same

That's a pity. I believe it shouldn't be a big deal to "correct" drivers to be able to descramble section data (like PMT).

If there would be VU/xtrend driver developers among 27,5 fans...

finally. result!

after 3 month of trying I found out where the problem was.

lamedb seems to be the problem. after checking entries I spotted several entries for the channels. after deleting and pasting the correct values it works flawless. ok. besides the hd audio channels.

really hope there will be a workaround for this issue, but very happy for now.

many thanks for the hard work in this script!!!!

As written earlier, one option to get sound on HD is to update E2 to allow cache HE-AAC audio PID.

On (closed source) DMM E2, this update is already available:

http://git.opendream...dfe1781c#patch2

There are new cache entry types defined:

cATYPE (10)

cAPID (11)

As checked with lamedb update on my box, HE-AAC has cATYPE 0004.

So HD lamedb entries for "long" mode of script would look like this:

4440:0cfdace7:1000:0001:25:0
BBC Two HD
p:BBC,c:0017d5,c:0317d5,c:050001,c:100004,c:1117d6,f:4
4484:0cfdace7:1000:0001:25:0
BBC One HD
p:BBC,c:0019c9,c:0319c9,c:050001,c:100004,c:1119ca,f:4
44c8:0cfdace7:1000:0001:25:0
ITV1 HD
p:ITV,c:001839,c:031839,c:050001,c:100004,c:11183a,f:4
4500:0cfdace7:1000:0001:25:0
Channel 4 HD
p:Channel 4 Broadcasting,c:00189d,c:03189d,c:050001,c:100004,c:11189e,f:4

I know, that OpenPLI team goes now its own way with E2 development, but compatible (or at least) similar update would be appreciated by OpenPLI users with non Dreambox HW.

Dear OpenPLi developers, do you think you could possibly look at doublet's link and think about incorporating this feature into your image?

Much appreciated.

I recently upgraded my ET9000 from OpenPLi 3.0 to 4.0 and have noticed the following:

- On 3.0, the BBC script (wget command?) worked fine no matter what port I set OpenWebif to. Also, it worked despite the fact that I had HTTP authentication set to YES.

- On 4.0, however, it does not work like that. I have to switch HTTP authentication to NO and also, as far as I can remember, I need to edit the script with my OpenWebif port setting.

Does anyone know why is that?

doublet, do you think you could modify your script so as to enable HTTP authentication?

Robinson, try bbc_pmt_v4.py from zipfile:

Attached File  bbc_pmt_v4.zip   2.22KB   305 downloads

New optional parameters are:

-a <user:password> -p <port>

example:

bbc_pmt_v4.py -t short -d /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux3 -p 81 -a myuid:mypassword

It works, doublet! Thanks.

Just one additional question regarding long mode. It seems to be impossible to record any 27.5W channel when the box is in standby. I guess there is nothing that can be done about it? The box just needs to be on during the recording?

Hey, guys. My patch was committed yesterday. So HE-AAC should work now after an update (perhaps we change the entry in lamedb, but this shouldn't be a big problem for you (see other thread)).

@Robinson

Script uses E2 web interface to know which channel is being watched and to get current PIDs. Unfortunately, there is no way (or better I didn't find it), how to get information about current recording. So when the box is standby, we don't know what to descramble.

Maybe if script would evolve to "standard" E2 plugin, this could be possible.
