If you have VU+, then I suspect you may have to use LONG mode of doublet's script and you will not be able to hear audio on HD channels.

I can't get it to run  ..

Questions :

1.how can i see that doublet's script is actually running on the system ?

2.do you need to set "f:4" flag for doublet's script ? If I understod things, the answer is no.

3. what is the first thing I can check after i know that the script is running ?

Hi,

first,  there is one basic prerequisite:

You need some softcam which is able to handle BISS and BISS keys (script was tested with oscam ymod).

For first experiments, it is good to run the py script by hand from command line. You could start the script in short mode (which is better but it is confirmed to work properly on dreambox only). Another variable is demux number - I believe demux0 is to be used with OpenPLI images, but you have to check.

"f:4" and correct PIDs in lamedb are required for "long" mode.

If you have already installed py script with starter scripts, you can check whether it is running by linux ps command.

Just an observation when using LONG mode of the script on my ET9000.

It seems not to be possible to record these channels using timer - I tried BBC ONE.

Instant recording works fine.

And even if I record something using instant recording, it seems impossible to play such *.ts file on a Windows computer.

Has anyone tried that?

Try MPC-BE (Media Player Classic - Black Edition)

Files I can't play with WMP or VLC are playable with MPC-BE

Can somebody help me with dvbsnoop command to see what is happening in the background ?

As Robinson mentioned earlier, perhaps you've got same problem as with ET receivers. To get sound on HD,script must run in short mode. In that mode script asks CAM do descramble PMT section. Till now it's confirmed to work properly on dreamboxes only.

You can run script in short mode by hand from cmd line (bbc_pmt_v3.py -t short -d /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0) and post output. Alternatively, you can try to do it directly in bbc_pmt_starter.sh and catch a log:

scriptName="bbc_pmt_v3.py -t short -d /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0"
#logName=/dev/null
logName=/tmp/bbc_pmt.log

No success with short...

one question - can somebody check lamedb data for BBC One HD, Channel 4 HD,ITV1 HD...especially for namespace which value is 0cfdace7 by me.is it true ? I can't decode HD channels with long or short method..

Final result from me : vu+solo2 (just changed from vu+uno :D )..

SD all working with sound, HD only picture, no sound.

Using long method from doublet, short mode does not work.

Hi all,

I've been following closely the conversation and done little experimenting on my own system, so here's what I've discovered.

I'm using Linux system, with vdr+dvbapi+oscam-ymod-t48 and I get all other channels to open, with sound (SD and HD), but not BBC Three, BBC Three HD, BBC Four, STV HD or UTV HD. Can someone confirm if these are working at all, and which vpid, apid they are using ?

One interesting thing is that I don't need to run any extrenal scripts to get the pmt decrypted. After vdr restart It takes some time (maybe 30-60s) for vdr to get hang of the pmt and to decrypt it, but eventually when it does, all channels (except above mentioned) are working after that without delay.

Here's vdr -V output showing the vdr and plugin versions.

vdr (2.1.2/2.1.2) - The Video Disk Recorder
dvbapi (1.0.2) - DVBAPI type SOFTCAM
streamdev-server (0.6.0-git) - VDR Streaming Server
dvbsddevice (2.0.1) - SD Full Featured DVB device
dvbhddevice (2.1.2) - HD Full Featured DVB device

Hopefully this information helps someone to come up with better working solution on set-top boxes :)

BBC 3 and BBC 4 are working only at certain times. Evenings? Nights? Something like that. The others you mentioned do not work because they in fact do not broadcast anything.

Thanks for sharing info on you VDR.

Is it something like that: http://rstenpresser....resser/vdr.html

BBC 3 and BBC4 are on air from 19.00 British time (20.00 CET). BBC 3 HD is expected going on air in December. STV HD or UTV HD don't broadcast any stream via this package.

So it's known, that it's E2 problem with scrambled PMT (which is quite out of standard). There are (few) non-E2 receivers which can deal with that. So you can be lucky that your VDR-based system can deal with scrambled PMT :)

Robinson: Something like that, but not as nice :)

doublet: Thanks for the info on channels! I understood minutes after I sent the message that VDR does know how to descramble the PMT, something that the E2 doesn't, hence the external script

When I install oscam-ymod-t48 it is not decoding anything, both my Canal Digitaal and Digitenne card are not working, I can't access the WebIF of Oscam.
With the normal Oscam it's working fine...

Can't find a specific installation- or setupguide for the ymod-version, so configuring it the same like the normal oscam.

What could I be doing wrong?
