That was exactly what I was considering.... let the isActive return timeshift_enabled and the user can skip back when playing live as there is no differnce....

But when doing so on some boxes there is no way to quit timeshift...... not all remotes have a STOP button....

Uhm, consider those boxes broken.
They might need a work-around later, but any HDD recorder without the basic set of buttons (At least Play/Pause, Rew, Ffwd, Stop and Record) can not be considered to be suitable for timeshift and HDD recordings.

I don't see why proper STBs should get the work-around (Having to zap rather than using the genuine STOP button), just to suit the needs of broken boxes.

1 2 3
4 5 6
are ordered in the same way as
Rew Play Ffwd
Rec Pause Stop
would be on a proper remote.

Can't use numbers to zap then, though .... But you can't have your cake and eat it too.

I guess people would still have the option to buy a proper remote ...
All you need is present on a Logitech Harmony 200 (Where the 300/300i is even cheaper, though it has more buttons).

@dima73: Please try tomorrow with the latest patch again.
I would guess, that you are using PTS, correct?
What do you do exactly do?
If you are not using PTS how long do you wait with pressing pause after zapping?
You press pause and afterwards immediately fast forward (or is it a fast rewind)?
Is it a SD channel with very low bitrate? Can you test with other channels?

It seems you and pieterg solved this problem :) .

I am also getting some crashes after latest updates, when using Permanet Timeshift plugin (aka PTS).

I just went to play a recorded movie while being in a channel where timeshift has been enabled by Permanent Timeshift plugin.

That the new timeshift protection is not compatible today with the pts plugin... The pts plugin needs to be altered... -Or/but- tonight I try to find another way to get it compatible...

Why?
It is easier to assemble a new hotfix for Permanet Timeshift plugin.

Hi Dima73,

- Which STB did you use (et9000 or vu+ultimo)?
- Does the problem also occur when permanent timeshift plugin is deinstalled (deactivated)?
- I cannot reproduce it. Is it maybe channel related?

The issue in fact is that live mode is no seakable... So seek is not possible in timeshift live mode...

I have installed permanent timeshift plugin. Timeshift starts and I wait several seconds. Then I press rewind button and in ~50% of the cases rewinding work. In the other ~50% of the cases screen is black for a second and then it switches to live tv. Do you mean this?
