Warning when zapping is a must. This is not any lesson learned when you accidentaly zap e.g. by unwanted touch of Channel+/- key and loose all delayed program.

I would recommned using several smaller files and just rotate them to avoid filling of free space. E.g. 15 or 30 minute files and the number would be optional as people have various disks/flashdisk.

Will files in trashcan be deleted only after x days (as I thought until now) or also when disk space is low?

Well, it's perhaps a solution. Making 2 overlapping timeshifts would be nicer... (Why in hell isn't it possible to delete bytes at the front of a file without copying the file... that would be a much better solution...)

Initial Test:
Zapping via arrow and cursor keys now behaves perfectly. Warning when timeshifted, no warning when live. GREAT

Zapping via Numer keys jumps when in timeshift. When live, a warning is issued.
I don't know, if this is your desired behaviour but I would have expected Number key don't give a warning when live.

I can understand you fire the warning, because it helps when the number keys are used for jumping and the accidentally change theit behavour when getting live, but I would rather like it, when they would behave exactly as when zapping with the arrow keys.
When the skip function during timeshift is a must, the ideal way would be to fire the warning once, after skipping to live.
That way, the warning would not be fired during normal number zap.

I really apreciate it, that you are trying to fix this. I feel its only a short step away from perfect. ;-)
Thanks again
Umtauscher

If I understand correctly, disable warning if number zap.
Yes?

Yes, but when the number keys' function changes from skip to zap, I thing one warning is good, since you never know, when that happens and that would kill the buffer.

Not quite. Warning still comes during live mode when zapping by number after recording has started. ( 5 sec. in my case)
Also a warning when zapping from services list in live mode.
Thanks

Checked, сonfirm not.

Checked, сonfirm not.
I did not change anything for open channel list from the previous version.
Please check again.
And what are your settings plugin pts?

Ok, doesn't help.
No I first set my UI to English language, so we are talking about the same entries.
My settings are:
PTS Settings:
Permanent Timeshift Enable: yes
Permanent Timeshift Max Events: 05
Permanent Timeshift Max Length: 240
Permanent Timeshift Start Delay: 005
Timeshift-Save Action on zap: Ask user
Stop timeshift while recording: no
Show PTS Infobar while timeshifting: no
Show warning when timeshift is stopped: yes

Setup/System/User interface:
Enable multiple bouquets: yes
Alternative numbering mode: yes
Show warning when timeshift is stopped: yes
Hide zap errors: no

Is there anything else that could influence the behaviour?
I still get both warnings.

Maybe I found the problem: I have a plugin call ExtendedNumberZap. Maybe that is incompatibe with PTS or vice versa.

Unfortunately when I uninstall it, I cannot zap using the number keys at all.
Any Ideas?

Yes, the problem with the plugin ExtendedNumberZap.
It is 100%.
I then alter it to openPli.

???
Disable or remove pts plugin for check...

Solved: There was another plugin Bouquet Hotkeys which messed up the zapping.

Your plugin now works perfectly concerning the warnings!!! Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it.
This is great. I would love to have this in the normal update.

Since I now have uninstalled the ExtendedNumberZap-Plugin, do you have any idea how I could reduce the timeout for zapping after enterning a digit before the box zaps without having to press ok?

Cheers

I will correct ExtendedNumberZap later.

I had an idea and now I write changes to the plugin PTS.
Add mode- automatic(permanent) or manual.Manual replace the standard timeshift if pts plugin enable.

And I understand the reason the symbol recording(vfd display) for E9x00 if pts plugin enabled.

Dima73, а возможность сохранять таймшифт, как запись есть только при использовании плагина PTS ?
Хотелось бы, чтоб и без этого плагина была такая возможность в дефолтном имидже (как в имидже от VTi).

Maybe someone is interested...
A test version of the plugin PTS(Permanent Timeshift):
-add Timeshift mode(automatic (permanent)" or "manual (standart)")
-if mode manual (standart) add options "Behavior on start timeshift"(pause or live tv)
-Show warning on zap(yes/no)
if yes
manual mode(Show warning on zap if not save action)
automatic mode(Show warning on zap if not Live TV or not save action)
-add support timeshift for all services without EPG
-add support timeshift audio services(only manual mode) *have problems if save and playing

Only test
Replace in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/PermanentTimeshift/
