I'm sorry, I can't find them. Can anyone provide more specific details as to where they are. They are not located where they used to be when I used the VIX image.
Thank you.

@ kanwar: First you need to enable crash log creation in preferences. I have no access to my box now, so I can't write where to find the option.
Somebody wrote me some time ago, that SH4 is not supported here, but I've used PTS from this forum on my box without big problems up to the 1.3b version. My software is based on OpenPLi from 2013-03-31. After installing newer versions of PTS I had the problem mentioned by kanwar "(...) but now the box wont boot it keeps rebooting with green screen." I was forced to remove plugin by console before enigma2 was loaded into memory. I've attached one of the logs to the post - I have a few with almost the same data (date/time is changing). As I remember the log is from 1.3g, but the GS and reboot on start I have from 1.3c or 1.3d.

As I can't edit the post what I'm trying to say is:-
When rewinding and watching the recorded timeshift pressing stop should just stop playing the timeshift recording and not the actual recording of timeshift.

I encounter a green screen too.
The first green-screen-reboot-loop I encountered when enabling timeshift through "Menu > Setup > System > User Interface > auto start timeshift after xxx". I was able to fix this by uninstalling the PTS plugin as suggested on this forum (didn't know it is now built in in OpenPLI).
But now I'm still getting green screens. It has something to do with the AutoTimeshift plugin I have installed a long time ago, but here's the problem: I've already uninstalled AutoTimeshift months ago (it's no longer visible in my plugins list), but I still see its settings in the config screens (Menu > Setup > System > Auto Timeshift) and I still see references in the log file (attached), so it is still installed, and probably causing this second green screen.
Is there another way to uninstall Auto Timeshift? (again, it's already gone from my plugins-list, but not really uninstalled)

You can try this (but it's not guaranteed that it works):
Log in via telnet/ssh and goto /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/
There you find Extensions and SystemPlugins folders. In one of these 2 folders might be a AutoTimeshift folder. Delete this Autotimeshift folder (NOT the Extensions and SystemPlugins folders!!) and restart E2.

Thx, that worked!
The built-in timeshift works pretty good btw. I like the way the number buttons react like in an actual recording (jumping through the file), preventing accidental zapping and losing the buffer, and I like the warning you get when you do accidentally try to zap away.
But there is a discrepancy in the way the warning works:
1) when zapping, staying in live-tv mode, and zapping away, the warning is not shown, which is what I would expect.
2) when zapping, timeshifting, and zapping away, the warning is shown, which is what I would expect.
3) when zapping, timeshifting AND returning to live-tv afterwards, then zapping away, the warning is still shown, even though this is the same use case as point 1. This looks to me like a bug, perhaps a flag not being reset after returning to live-tv.
Also, I have one suggestion, but this may be more of a skin related problem.
When in live-tv mode, the "timeshift-infobar" is always shown smack in the middle of the screen (with 0:00 all over the timeline, indicating I'm not actually playing the timeshift buffer, but viewing live tv). Unless actually timeshifting, this progress bar has no use and overlaps with the epg information shown in the second-infobar. I use MetrixHD mod by Taykun345 as skin.

Hi Q-BiC,
no, no bug. It was intended by me.
I see it this way: If a user has really used timeshifting, then he should get the warning before zapping regardless of whether he is in "timeshift mode" or at live point.
A reason for this is, that the user cannot see whether he is at live point or not (only by pressing Ok). And so there is a big chance that you accidently zap (instead of seek) at live point and timeshift buffer is lost.
Regarding the timeshift infobar: There was a discussion some weeks ago and I thought that littlesat had disabled it (the 0:00 when the timeshift starts after x seconds)....
I found this commit:
http://sourceforge.n...045787cc201a16/
After how many seconds do you automatically start timeshift? And how long is the infobar displayed?

Understandable, thx for clarifying.
I started the timeshift at 2 seconds and switched over to 4 seconds later. 2 seconds was too quick. TS started as soon as I got picture. 4 seconds allowed for some more margin when quickly zapping through channels.
Both showed the "problem" however (the timeshift-progress bar appearing for no reason, with "0:00 0:00/0:00" on it). The progress bar disappears together with the main info bar, after the specified timeout.
It's not really a big deal, other than it appears on an annoying location on the screen

If you set automatic timeshift start to 10 seconds, the timeshift progressbar won't appear. Or better with default skin it don't appear, but it should be the same for MetrixHD skin.
To change the location you need to ask the author or try to change it by yourself.

Hi Betacentauri,
thank you for that. It really seems to work great!

OK, i've managed to take photos of the log (green screen) as I'm useless at finding the txt file :-)
Here they are:
I get this green screen after turning PTS on and when changing channels (it hangs for a second and then green screen appears).
Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Where did you get that pts plugin from then?
If you're referring to me, I'm using the 4D image released on 7 June 2013. I haven't installed anything apart from Autobouqets. I just turned Timeshift on from system, settings.

If you installed something from elsewhere, I guess that's the place to look for support too.
We only provide support for images we produce, and which can be downloaded from http://openpli.org, see the Nightly Builds sidebar. We don't support images customized by others using our sourcecode.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

No, we don't intend to (at this moment).
We produce OpenPLi, which is an open source solution that other people can use as a basis for an image. For our own testing purposes, we produce images for a select set of receivers ourselfs. Which is also why we only provide nightly automated builds, and not releases (with a name or version number for example).
