I'm a Newbie,

so maybe the answer of my question is somewhere where i didn't find it...

If you "zap" to an other channel... you see an info bar... you know what i mean!
What do the A B C D signs mean, and why are they green and sometimes orange?
And in some image's there is even more info in the bar that i can't explain!!!
is there a file somewhere i can download, with all the signs explained?

Thanks.... JP

They indicate the tuners in use... most skins use orange/yellow as tuner used... and green for the tuner where you are really whatching with...

I try to explain the infobar here.

[attachment=51136:screenshot.jpg]

when we look at the infobar:

[attachment=51137:infobar.jpg]
From top left to bottom right:
-channelname&provider , DolbyDigital , screentype , HBBtv , teletext , Highdefenition , encrypted, internet ?(not sure about that simbol), clock&date and satellite , provider and screenresolution. Blue bar is progression of program.

-picon , epg time & programname next below that , program time left below that program time next program , tuner in use and tuner overview(4 tuners) , snr(signal strength, error correction

-softcam in use , softcam info , softcam info.

Dreambox Dm8000 with all hardware addons donated to OpenPli. No interests anymore in policy of CanalDigitaal / M7 group and now-a-days channel encryption (like CI+ / HD+).

Good luck Enigma2 / OpenPli, it was fun with Sky Movies and so on, collected a nice collection of movies. Now back to basic boring lineair TV with KPN iTV (VDSL2 pair bonding 219 / 63 Mbps).

The VDSL pair bonding is excellent for... torrents to NAS in higher quality then HDTV (Like Dolby-TrueHD or DTS-Master-Audio soundquality ) :D

Wow, to make it complete... SORRY!:
there are some more signs....

I can understand SNR: in my case it's 99%
and then there's: AGC: 43%
and BER: 0

can anyone explain these to me? i think 99% means i fixed my dish really nice and the 43% could be the length of my cables?

Would be nice to be sure :-)

JP!

AGC is short for automatic gain control and in most implementations is a figure that tell in this case percentage of the available amplification to get the incoming signal for the lnb to the optimal level to be processed. However I think for e2 as little sat has implied in may not carry the correct message due to the issues with the drivers being closed source.
BER is bit error rate and as the name suggests it is the number of errors detected in the incommin data stream so 0 is ideal but a low number is also OK as it takes a few errors to be noticeable in the viewed picture.

Hope this is of some help.

In fact the ber presented does not have much added value at all.... As this is most of the time zero as the correction already taken place before.... More interest point is the error rate fixed the incoming data stream that isn't available from any driver... As this is the only real indication of the quality of the signal
