Some programs like e.g. the BBCplayer and sometimes "uitzending gemist" refuse to play content as they see your country is not the intended one. It would be nice to have a plugin
in which you could select a "country of origin" and then start the plugin which objected to your real country now thinking it is serving another one.

jean

it's not something you can simple configure with a setting (or plugin).
They use your IP address, to find out where you are.
And the IP address is provided by your internet provider, so you cannot change it.

Only way is to use a transparent proxy or VPN as your internet connection.
Then the 'country of origin' will be the determined by the IP address of the proxy or VPN server.

I think it should be possible by using an appropriate proxy (based on the country you want to seem operating from) from http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy-list/
I now how to do this under linux when browsing the web but I don't know how to do it om my XTrend9500 with openpli3

maybe someone here has figured it out?

jean
