I used OPi until September last year when after flashing from OpenPLi 2.1 did get stack to the welcome screen and refuse to cary on.

I tried different usb’s, installed Black Hole with no problems ( not using anymore simply for having no subtitles) and moved finally to OPENVIX.
Nostalgically, today tried to install Open PLi 3 and seems thing have not moved a lot for me - still no luck!
Any help with this problem?

VU+duo, HDD 2TB.

Possibly a /hdd/backup directory???

I do have some backup files there , and sure -can delete some dont need , but the screen have never comes even close to the "restore backup" question. Just hangs on the winter picture ( the best of all images, by the way).

Delete is not required... Just rename to backup,bak or so and reflash....
But please note auto restore/ install in a DMM box can take a long time - and you do not get any clue about the progression.... And during this time you stay on the winter screen.

Deleting (and renaming some) old backups cured the problem.
I do find the OPli image providing slightly better quality on the HD signal and improves the small freezes i had with other VU+ images .

I seem to have the same problem. How do I rename the files if I cant boot the box? 

Going from 2.1 tp the latest version. VU+ Ultimo

PS what files do I need to rename?

Fixed. Installed BH, removed backup files. Re-flashed OpenPli, put back backup, restored and up and running. 

Just need to find the rytec plug in again....

The Rytec plugin can be downloaded under menu - plugins - green button - extensions.
