I'd like to add an extra tuner to my XTrend9500. I currently have three tuners which fit in the XTrend: two satellite tuners and one cable tuner, of course there is only space for two tuners
in the XTrend, so I have to choose two from the three, therefore the extra tuner should be an USB-tuner, now I was wondering which is better (in the sense of price and being supported under OpenPli3) a DVB-S-stick or DVB-C-stick?
regards,
jean

I think I'd prefer to keep the S2 tuners 'real', and use a USB C tuner.
Reasons:
-a DVB-C transponder has less bandwidth than DVB-S2, so less usb data, and less CPU usage for a DVB-C usb tuner.
-DVB-S2 tuner needs 18V, this means you need an external adapter. DVB-C tuners could be usb powered

-a DVB-C transponder has less bandwidth than DVB-S2, so less usb data, and less CPU usage for a DVB-C usb tuner.

Can you give hands on advise concerning which DVB-C USB tuners work out of the box on XTrend9500+OpenPli3?I think I'd prefer to keep the S2 tuners 'real', and use a USB C tuner.
