My image is running at about 4k left on rootfs. Means I can't do anything really and certainly not install any new plugins. Is there any way to extend the rootfs in the image or does anyone have any suggestions?

Which box?

(And by "4k" you probably mean "4 megabytes"?)

It's on a Vu+ Solo. And no, I mean 4K!!!
However, I did clear up a little this morning (silly files save in the home folder) and now have below - still, I would like more, if possible.

Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
ubi0:rootfs 98.7M 93.6M 5.0M 95% /
devtmpfs 134.3M 4.0K 134.3M 0% /dev
tmpfs 64.0K 0 64.0K 0% /media
/dev/sda1 232.8G 141.5G 91.4G 61% /media/hdd

Looks like you solved it.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it. There's no relation between performance and (free) flash memory.
