Hi Guys.

Wasnt getting any responces in the room above, so here goes.. Double Posting !!..

Using the past few weeks of Nightly releases, testing on Dm8000 box i find that none of my Avi or MKV Movies playback via the standard Mediaplayer that comes bundled with Pli.
I loaded on Mediacentre via the plugins menu, rebooted and find no joy in playing back of Stored Avi/Mkv Videos.
This is the first time for me that i havent been able to playback these common file extensions..

Basically i browse to the choosen avi or mkv file, press play.. Then all i get is the Mediaplayer screen with 0.00 time indication at the bottom of the screen.

Because i'm reasonably new back into the Pli arena, is there something i'm missing ?

Any help would be great

Hi Hemertje.

Its been a while since i last had contact with you (Approx 3 or so years).
In this time, i have been using alternative Images on my DM boxes... I decided to come back and give pli another go - as i used to be a very loyal follower.
I have allready made a contribution in the form of our New Zealand terrestrial.xml, but see it hasnt been used.

I made a posting with reference to a problem i have found with the Mediaplayer within Pli, which i posted in the above room, but have not had a responce.
All i wanted was a Yes, or No Responce..
Maybe you could confirm my Question ??.

If not, I can leave if you wish..

Hi Hemertje

There is nothing to add or update to the original topic..
I have updated my DM8000 to the latest Pli build, but still no change with either Mediaplayer or Mediacentre...
Still no Avi, MKV playback.

The same Avi/MKV files were playing back fine with no problems using Gemini, Newnigma etc.

Any Clues ???

My Original Topic was:
I have Pli Enigma2 loaded on my DM8000S Receiver, and have found that the bundled Mediaplayer does not Playback either Avi or MKV Video Files.
When Selecting a Avi File for playback, all i see on screen is the information Bar displaying the Movie or File name and time 0.00...
The File will not playback at all,. it is like the File is in Pause mode with Black Screen.

This is the first time i have come accross this problem.
With other images such as Gemini, NewNigma, Dream-Elite i found that Mediaplayer played Avi and Mkv Video without any problems.

What do you think ???

Do you or anyone else have any ideas what the problem could be ?

Have you tried flashing a clean new image?
Is it possible there are some remnants from your other images in a backup file that are incompatible with pli?
Lastly where are the files store could it be some network problem?

don't use the mediaplayer plugin, use the standard Video button on your remote as you play your normal recordings, browse, select and play...
