There is still an OpenPLi image available for the DM800HD (http://openpli.org/download/dm800/), so need to look for other images?

yes but an obsolete one

Define "obsolete". It is end-of-life for DMM too.

The build runs every day. There are no newer drivers, so no newer kernel is possible. It runs the same Enigma as all other images. It isn't that obsolete.

a simple search for new drivers :

your version : http://sourceforge.n...-dvb-modules.bb (20120216)

dmm version : http://git.opendream...fs/heads/master (20131228)

but you need to use it in Open PLi 3.0 or 4.0 because of the new GCC and time shows you don't wanna do it

also there are some kernel updates (i'm not sure about dm800 but there are for other DMM models for sure)

Open PLi 2.1 is using python 2.6 which is obsolete for most enigma2 developers

Most other DMM models are still being updated.

And anyone can provide a patch for it, the fact that we don't want to put any effort in it anymore doesn't mean the community can't.

so if we post a patch for all DMM models (including dm800) , it will be added to Open PLi 4.0 ?

OpenPLi 4 has dependencies that will never work on the ancient 2.16.8 kernel. Even OpenPLi 3 has them. Which is why it still runs 2.1.

It was one of the reasons behind our decision to drop support for this piece of antique (that is even declared EOL by the manufacturer).

If you manage to solve all that, don't create impact on the other builds, and are prepaired to maintain and support what you have created (as we will still not support it), we might consider it.

The main reason a lot of people are interested in an up-to-date DM800 image is the enormous amount of clones floating around. Something we don't care about at all, we don't do clones...

you're wrong it will work but requires more patches in comparison to Open PLi 3.0

new dm800 driver (with newer GCC) will not boot on so many clones , it's something against clones

hi Mfaraj, I tried to install the install the latest version of TSmedia v 5.8 through TSpanel but it says I needed Python-Pycrypto......

When I tried to install Python-pycrypto....i get a message that I needed to install libgmp10......

Yet again when I tried to install libgmp10....it then states I need libc6......

I cannot find libc6 in the library; would it be possible to either provide this dependencies or simple just package all dependencies on the Tsmedia 5.8?

Thanks.....

thanks Phil.....faraj, i don't think Tsmedia 5.8 can be installed on Openpli 3.0 unless I can find the dependency libc6 which would enable me to install python-pycrypto which is required.......

Any observation....?

python-pycrypto is required for some arabic addons but the plugin will run without it

you can decompress the package of TSmedia by 7zip and only copy the folder of Tsmedia to the box
