I'm using mediaportal plugin and after some time of playing different clips, I suddenly don't get picture (it's black) but audio plays normal.

I started enigma2 in debug mode and I can send the file to anybody interested.

Even when I exit the plugin and try to watch TV, the picture is still black but audio is norma.

I have to reboot the receiver Xtrend et6000 in order to watch TV (enigma2 restart isn't enough.

I notice in my log:

Gstreamer error: Service Temporarily Unavailable (5) from source

Once it appears I get no picture until I reboot.

I'm using openpli 3.0 image.

@Littlesat, pieterg: Can you commit athoiks and my patch (in the right order!! First athoiks and then mine).

Dear all,

I just flashed image with @betacentauri backported patch and the videos (eg the one from youtube) that previously failed now work perfectly.

Dear All,

It seems that everybody is happy with the latest changes :)

But fixing the DTS downmix on MKV files could make even more people happier.

What do you think, is it possible? If yes what open source project will help (eg libdca, dtsdec, ffmpeg)

Thanks

For the dmm boxes there are some 3rd party stuff that needs to be installed.. There are some threads here about this on this forum.

On dreamboxes you might also want to have a look at our dtsdownmix component, which downmixes dts to lpcm.

http://sourceforge.n...gstdtsdownmix.c

currently, it's not installed for dreamboxes, because we use the dmm dvbmediasink on those.

Dear junad,

Running from command line gst-launch playbin2 uri=file:///media/hdd/1/h264_1080p_hp_4.1_10mbps_dts_unstyled_subs_monsters.mkv file has sound immediatelly!

Running from mediaplayer (the default one) the first time got the sound after some time, then when i am trying to play again the video it starts from the end (not start at all).

I clear the resumepoints.pkl i delete everything under .gstreamer-0.10 but the player refuses to begin from start. Only if i play two three videos (without dts) it works again only for the first time.

Spoiler

Dear pieterg,

Do we need special drivers on dreamboxes for gstdtsdownmix.c or it can work without driver modifications?

PS. Are we using playbin or playbin2?

this is because e2 makes things worse by jumping to position 0 (and because dts uses rather long frames, it takes a long time before you're sync again, after each skip)

Do we need special drivers on dreamboxes for gstdtsdownmix.c or it can work without driver modifications?

should work with the standard drivers, most likely.
But the dmm dvbmediasink might need some changes, in order to cooperate with the downmix element.

playbin2

I guess changing gst-plugin-dreambox-dvbmediasink to gst-plugin-dvbmediasink is not enough right?

It will be for the most common codecs, but I think their wma/wmv support might be different.
But it's worth a try, for a quick test of the downmix functionality.

Don't forget to add a line like

DVBMEDIASINK_CONFIG = "--with-dtsdownmix"

in your machine conf file

init 4
gst-launch playbin2 uri=file:///media/hdd/1/h264_1080p_hp_4.1_10mbps_dts_unstyled_subs_monsters.mkv

Of course you must enter after file:// the full path to the file eg file:///tmp/a.mkv. This works without delay on sound. pieterg gave an explanation why this is happening.
