Sorry, in advance - but I am now going to "return the favour"... with a bit of professional interest, as it were... I hope you're big enough to get, since you are so free to give...
You are rather quick, as an old gun-slinger, so I must now teach you an even older art (once again), of doing things with some caution and consideration, as this is my profession... ):
By continually participating in a particular hobby, one can acquire substantial skill and knowledge in that area.
You conveniently missed "can", which is not the same as "must" and therefore it is not automatically followed by "if you fail to do the same as me you are less worthy"... Bah!
This is quite usual in the hobby, though: immaturity, whereby anyone who is somehow not knowing or not being able to do the same as me - is a "lamer"... Poor you... There is no bigger "lamer" self-aggrandising nonsense on the planet than that, something we usually call "ego-tripping"...
FYI, for me this has nothing to do with shiny boxes, from the start - but fulfilling the need for information, education, culture, also that of additional motivation and then entertainment. You are speaking to somebody who knows a thing or three about alienation and Critical Theory... But don't let that stop you...
OK, now I'm done, too...
<span style='font-family: comic sans ms,cursive'>"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-incurred immaturity. Immaturity is the inability to use one's own understanding without the guidance of another. This immaturity is self-incurred if its cause is not lack of understanding, but lack of resolution and courage to use it without the guidance of another. The motto of enlightenment is therefore: Sapere aude!
