Yes and DMIPS galore, whereas it's not as capable as it seems from such 4 figures, expressed in those terms... But we have seen not only Vu+ but also ET9K start with that etc.

Corporate jargon must be shown through, indeed... But Rome was not built in a day, so...

But the building of Rome can hardly be compared with a home-theatre ...........

Still, it's a highly complex operation... smaller scale than Rome, admittedly but... :D

I would prefer a good enigma2 box that can also run XBMC, instead of integrating TV functionality inside XBMC. With enough RAM it could be possible to run them both at the same time, making switching from one to another instant.

I am trying XBMC + enigma2 combination on HTPC but the enigma2pc part still isn't performing as a good STB.

i think enigma2 is old and the graphic engine is too much poor.

It is time for something new and better.

Don't know if the future is Xbmc or something else. But it is time to go aehad.

I agree, the users are getting more and more used to nice eye-candy and the modern boxes have an overkill of cpu power to drive those nice tinhgs!

I prefer functionality over eye-candy. I would only replace enigma2 if something new has all the functionality of enigma2.

Exactly! Functionality is what it's all about; design should support that.

But looking at the markets (of all kinds of stuff) that's quite an old-fashioned point of view.....

looking at the grafical eye candy/blingbling markets, there is a big market for an old-fashion functional point of vieuw

Then maybe the E2BMC project would suit you (and probably most others) more than Prismcube? There - unlike as in Psimcube - E2 is at least partly integrated into XBMC to handle the DVB part.

In that case I'd like MythTV on my STB. I'm missing a lot of the functionality I had with Myth in E2.

New boxes (Solo2, Duo2, Ruby) have transcoding and more... They are now quite capable, not only in terms of processor, flash and working memory but also the motherboard itself is powerful enough (South Bridge etc.), from what I understand - me being an IT lay person...

Now you can have 2 x HD PiP, as well and so on...

And what is wrong with that?

I even like NeutrinoHD :) it never crashes like enigma2 does, if a plugin is giving a segfault....

Have you tried the XBMC plugin listed on the Xtend forums.

This looks very promising and may even make the PrismCube an unnecessary box.
