Instead of making it configurable I suggest it is smarter to build it on the platform you use....

When the sources are on github the build process knows the platform and can build only the required additional binary... So no config required at all...

As third party plugin, without sources, we need 3 different ipks...

[offtopic]

But still I would consider to rewrite this plugin such a way that it is approx the same way structured as the cable scan and fast scan.... so migrate the functionality to standard enigma2... and include the SKY EPG parser just like it is done for fastscan in the e2 binary...

Plugin works on mips, arm and sh4 architecture.

Determining architecture type does not work on all images. If you can suggest a robust way to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please host the plug-in on Github!

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

The version you have on the feeds is very old. It would be appreciated if you can update it. The default selection is the mips reader and most people will be using that. In any case, the user has to do some configuration before plugin will work. He/she has to select the local region otherwise lplugin does not know which regional chanenls to use.

I am not convinced that we need three different ipks. However, if that is what you want, then if you can educate me on the architecure types to use in the control file, then we can compromise. I will just have to edit the py file as to what the default reader will be.

Off topic

Fatscan does not work on all platforms. Not all providers adhere to the dvb standards either. I am uploading the cpp file used to make the reader to nullify the argument that "there are no sources".

AutoBouquetsMaker, the other plugin, is on GitHub. It does many more providers than when you last looked at it. It is built based on teh platfirm being used. Many users in the UK  will appreciate it as well as the other providers it does. Perhaps you can reconsiderthe previous rejection and add it too. Best not to discuss that in this thread though as it is a separate plugin.

Put it in e2openplugins and it will be updated automatically. Our 3rd party plugins feed is in the obsoletion phase.

Is it possible to get this working from the extensions menu on the wetek?  I seem to be getting :

"Unknown package 'enigma2-plugin-extensions-autobouquets-e2'.

Collected errors :

*opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package enigma2-plugin-extensions-autobouquets-e2

This plugin has a binary part.... that does not work on a Wetek or solo4k as it is compiled for MIPS...

It does work on the wetek and Solo 4K. As mentioned earlier, user has to select the appropriate architecture in the menu.

Like the average "joe" has a clue.

This is a typical example of what happens, and through what hoops you have to squeeze yourself, if plugins are kept close-source. Publish the code, so it can compiled like any other plugin, and you don't have to bother average users with "CPU types"...

Saves you making such complex packages as well.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

->

In fact this is not done..... With building the plugin it should simply build the right binary and not put different binaries in one plugin...

As third party plugin we need a separate ipks... one with MIPS binary and one with ARM binary... Then no configs -or- hacky checks such as if VUplusSOLO4K are required....

Publish the code -> I hope someone wants to offer this plugin on e2openplugins...

And beside this... the functionality and performance can be improved a lot when it is integrated into E2 just like fastscan and cablescan is made...

Please don't forget, code is open and was offered to this team already a long time ago. Back then i think the decision was not to use it because of what ever reason.

So now some one is offering a pre build ipk, which IMHO is good for the end user because it now has a possibility to use this great plugin. It's a better choise to use a pre build one than not to be able
to choose one at all.

So no need to be bashing other peoples work, we all have different opinions, does not mean that the one you believe in is the absolute best!

It was offered for inclusion in Enigma as a reader, and pieterg blocked that with the argument that the current reader code is a mess and needed to be reworked first.

Imho that is not related to this plugin, and the problems this plugin causes for users because it's closed source.

IMHO you are confusing this with something else, the code has allways been online here https://github.com/o...toBouquetsMaker.

I use this plugin with great joy, don't see any reason why other users shouldn't share in with the happiness.

So if the source is available, why don't we include that in our build process? Instead of fooling around with a third party ipk?

/me confused now... :(

The cpp code used to create the readers has been attached on several posts.

I attach the whole folder I use to make the ipk. The cpp file is in a folder called "source".

@Radnxl, you provided a link to AutoBouquetsMaker. That is a differnt plugin. It also works on the solo4k and wetek play.
