Be aware that we had to revert a lot of those 'enhancements' in the OE-A environment, as the result was not that good :(

Because?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

For your information:
https://github.com/E...ebif/issues/507

User complains that after todays update OWIF is still broken, whining for a module named "ipaddress".

As far as I understand your current progress, python-ipaddress should be part of the depends already by now, but for this user it seems like it wasn't.

I think this is the best clarification....

And I think we are so busy with OpenPLi5... that we miss this... ;)

Well, some images were build today. Eg VU solo4k. But also this images misses the dependency. I guess it's problem on build server. I informed Erik and tech. I hope they can fix.

Today's update of the 10K gave me an updated OpenWebIf, but no python-ipaddress. So I can confirm the issue. I assume the OpenWebIf is pinned to some commit hash, or is looking at the wrong branch or something.

I'm on the move, so I can't check.

in the build logs I see python-ipaddress is build so at least it should be there as a installable package.

So if you think this is needed, you might try installing it with opkg as a workaround.

I added the package itself to OE a few days ago, that is not the problem.

The problem is that in OpenWebIf it is added as a dependency, but our recipe doesn't pick up that change. Or perhaps we even use our own recipe?

Why is e2openplugins @ ab845c5 still waiting to be updated to e2openplugins @ 298b885 for latest e2openplugins upstream branch changes after several days?

You could still add it to the RDEPENDS in here https://github.com/O...nwebif.bbappend
without having to change e2openplugins.

Nope... dependency should be arranged by the plugin

You might or might not want to be prepared for OWIF 1.1

OWIF will (optionally) be modular:
https://github.com/o...ad1c9e1882a4e1d

Beginning with version 1.1 "Themes" and "WebTV" can be stripped from the package without any harm, so you can ship a bare OWIF (~ 800kB just like 0.4.x) on machines with very small flash and still offer Themes and WebTV through modules.

The above commit will split OWIF into the following packages on oe-a images:
  • enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif - The base OWIF
Only "original" and "clear" Themes, no WebTV.
~ 800 kB in size, just as OWIF 0.4.x
  • enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif-themes - All other themes
    Adds ~ 300 kB
  • enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif-webtv - The basic WebTV support
Full WebTV on Firefox, Safari and IE
No live TV on Chrome and only HTML5 for recordings/local files
    Only ~ 30 kB
  • enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif-vxg - Chrome support for WebTV
Adds support for VXG plugin in Chrome to WebTV and that way enables live TV and full recording/local file support.
Just like it is now, it adds 1.4 MB to the image)
If you don't do the split, it won't do any harm, you just get a bigger OWIF package.

That's already fixed in 1.1 if you mean the markers that are used in the Anglo-Saxonian area to make stations appear on specific higher numbers.
