You welcome, Colin! And thanx to those responding, indeed!
I talked to some well clued-up guys and I kept getting very different answers, so this is indeed confusing and needs clarification...
We have various types of EPG downloaded from a satellite (included in OpenPLi, in EPG sub-system menu). One needs to know which one is used by which provider and then turn it on and kill those one doesn't need... But I see no info in OpenPLi in that regard, sadly...
CrossEPG is good in some ways, since one downloads EPG from the net when one sleeps, so there is no waiting, like with OTA EPG. Also, one can choose individual providers, rather than types of EPG (and all the providers using it).
But it seems that some co-operation is needed between CrossEPG writer(s) and OpenPLi, so there are no double-entries, at least... Maybe also re. priorities?
Many parts of EU (and wider) depend on CrossEPG, you see. So, if the coders are not using it - we're stuck in some ways..
Similar with DDsubtitle Player, for many parts of the world where there is no dubbing or direct subtitling included.
Those 2 important plugins create many problems, when many possible kind of changes occur...
And we really do need them, for many a reason...
