或類似的東西  ;)

Maybe I should inform you, that some boxes have, for example, 4MB NOR and 128MB NAND Flash, others only have NAND Flash.

Do not know if this is important to know for your tool(?) - I only write it to post some (maybe) useful all 4weeks...

Thanks

Regarding NAND/NOR Flash

The ubiformat and nandwrite code is pretty clever and it it doesn't work there is plenty of support and knowledge available. BIT all this apllies for WRITING to such Flash chips, hence it would only make a difference for fgwrite which uses their code for writing to such devices.

nfidump ist just a dumb binary extracting jffs2 and ubifs Filesystems and doesn't even touch the Flash, and as there is currently no user space ubifs extractor available it uses block2mtd or nandsim module for extracting UBIFS. And as PLi is not willing to ship block2mtd and/or nandsim we have to waste our time now with collecting nandsim modules for your boxes.

Another input - it would be nice if the nandsim.ko modules would be properly packed as ipk because this places the ko file at the right place at /lib/module/.../extra and updates the modules.dep file accordingly.

As an example I have re-packaged the nandsim 3.3.8 from above. Please check if it works as I could not test it.

For testing simply install ipk in a solo2 box with kernel 3.3.8 (=Latest PLi if I read the commits correctly) and do a modprobe nandsim and check with cat /proc/modules if it was loaded properly.

This is not the Barry Allen Support Thread.

If modprobe nandsim doesn't work and cat /proc/modules doesn't show it properly loaded nfidump will not work - as explained here already.

It is that simple ...

And real dreamboxes have block2mtd in the kernel of their OE 2.0 images so nandsim is not needed at all

Did you ever create patch for OpenPLi and they didn't accept it?

Can you create patch for the rest of us?

Finally what will be the gain (except nfidump) after block2mtd is enabled on OpenPLi ?

Please read the tread, and all needed Patches are in the Original Dreambox OE 2.0 GIT, so No, I will not spend any more time on them as it took me days to collect adapt and test them.

Then what is the purpose of these and other (initiated by you) discussions

Once more this is NOT the BA support thrad. And BA + nfidump looks for root_ If there is none .. no fun. But renaming files is not such a difficult task in my opinion ...

Dear Gutemine,

I have renamed the 3 bın files in Gigablue Quad, and it worked. But, when BA is subsequently installed onto Gigablue Quad the sound from the channels IS LOST... However, when BA  is removed from the device we get the sound back... Could you please help me to resolve this problem...

Incidentally, I am the R&D guy for Gigablue in Turkey and I might need your support regarding Gigablue. In that  respect, could you please advise me the best channel (e-mail address etc) for me to communicate with you...

Kind regards...

This is NOT the BA support thread, and I don#t like to repeat myself.

In the VU+ support board you can find a thread which explains how BA guest mode works and which informations are needed to get passive support for a Box.

But the chance is low, as you prefere to ignore what I write.
