I always had a problem when I tried doing it (CIFS) via fstab or Network Browser, for instance...

Not if I mounted it via Mount Manager. Disable if not needed. Simple.

Autofs - no idea, sorry...

OK... I will umount when not in use. Thanks!

If anyone knows Autofs configure for this and can help me.

Easier with fstab editing - one file and that's it...

NetworkBrowser add ping server

For test...

'Ping server before mounting (port 80)' yes/no

Replace the two files from the archive on the way /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/NetworkBrowser/

restart e2

Replaces the files and did not show option 'Ping server before mounting (port 80)'.

I replaced the files and am testing with the "replacement hdd" active.

But, If "Ping server before mounting (port 80)" must exist, does not appear.

It does not work.

1) I set shared folder with CIFS and replacement hdd.

2) I put the receiver in standby mode.

3) I put the PC is off or in hibernation mode.

4) I wake up the receiver standby mode.

5) Black screen locked processing.

see on example: http://openpli.org/f...on/#entry343158

I can not configure autofs.

In MountManager I use the following configuration:

Local share name: files
Mount type: CIFS
Server IP: 192.168.1.103
Server share: xp1000
use the replacement HDD: Yes
Mount options: rw
Username: u
Password: u

Following his example, I created the file auto.synology with information:

files -fstype=cifs,username=u,password=u,noatime,noserverino,iocharset=utf8,sec=ntlmv2 ://192.168.1.103/xp1000

When I try to access /media/synology/files I get the message that the folder does not exist.

1) directory "synology"  and "files" there in /media/ are visibled ?

2) what display "mount" in telnet ?

3) what display "/etc/init.d/autofs status"

4) try manualy active with: "/etc/init.d/autofs restart"

5) what is in file /etc/auto.master  ? ( note - here you can all lines rem with #, only your line are actived )

do not forget, when you using autofs, then you must same mount point there in MountManager disable.

btw, you must not use my "synology".

Edit auto.master file and line "/media/synology /etc/auto.synology" modify f.eg. to:

/media/mypc /etc/auto.mypc

first parameter is mountpoint ( /media/mypc ), second is autoconfig file (auto.mypc)

Then mounted dirs will be in "/media/mypc/..."  and file for config will be "/etc/auto.mypc"

Note: there in /media/ should not exists directory with same name as will be created by autofs !

Thanx but I wasn't gonna do it on an image with Autofs... ;)

that's part of the timeshift check, which checks whether there is at least 200MB free space in the timeshift location.
It probably blocks for some time, when the (remote?) hdd is waking up?
And eventually it fails.
But I guess after that, everything is working smoothly again? (apart from the fact that the permanent timeshift will not have started because of this error)

No.

The system is busy(20-30sec) every time you use the remote .

I did the test:

NetworkBrowser...

1)Set shared folder with CIFS(192.168.1.104= /media/net/nsa210)
 replacement hdd=yes
2)Disable nsa210

every time with the same 'statfs failed!' message?
In that case, I think the (auto) timeshift is a bit to persistant.

25-30sec pause

statfs failed!

Maybe this  answer 'statfs failed!' is not related to the employment system, this is just my guess.
