Hello All,

I've been reading and searching a lot but it seems I couldn't yet have a definite answer to my question...

I have a particular scneario where I need to stream the complete DVB Transport Stream from a satellite transponder or a Terrestrial MUX. That is, I need to control the STB Tuner remotely, send the TS to the "eth" port and then let me worry about the DEMUX on the remote machine :)

Is it possible to send the complete, "unDEMUXED", Transport Stream from a STB running OpenPLi 3.0 to a remote machine (say, a PC..)?

How to control the tuner? How to make the TS packets available on LAN? Could be multicast or unicast...

I never succeeded. The linux dvb api specifies pid 0x1fff as magic number to stream the entire transponder. It never worked on the boxes I tried.
I guess you can come pretty close by demuxing and re-muxing all pid's individually. I dont know if there is a pid limit per demux, if there is you'll need to do part of the muxing in hardware and some in software

IIRC most hardware doesn't want to stream undecrypted pids (dreambox, vu+). So I can image that if you have a transponder with one or more encrypted pids, it doesn't work anyway. Maybe it will work on a complete FTA transponder.

At a first glance I don't see a mode that can broadcast a complete transponder, either.

Hi,

Thank you all for your interest and good replies.

Please take a look at exactly what I want to do... This link uses a comercial hardware to do exactly what I want, but since I own an ET9200 with OpenPLi, I guessed it would be possible to use a Linux STB to replace this hardware:

sr-systems.de/content.php?show=DVB-2TS-MiniMux&style=std&lng=eng&action=download&alias=MiniMux_RTP-Demo

Originaly, I just want to "relay" an FTA transponder (in fact it is a terrestrial MUX, received via USB tuner RTL2832U), but ths treahd remind me we could extend the idea to rebuild the PAT DVB table and redo the Transport Strem with contents from all the Tuners available on the Box. That would be great!

On the other end, I will use for now just a PC with VLC for tests, but the idea is to evolve to stand-alone hardware, with eventualy some kind of distribution Matrix to several IP users. But that is another issue...

Any further ideas about this?

I've read about DVBlast doing an excelent job in most common Linux distros.

Is there any DVBlast app for enigma2?

I also need an DVBlast or Astra for enigma2. Is it possible to compile anyone of them for E2?
