Made a rollback to dreambox-dvb-modules_3.2-dm800se-20120711-r7.0_dm800se.ipk and now everything seems to work again so its probably driver modules as you said.

Yes, thanks for trying.

There is not so much we can do about this problem (other than reverting to the old version), there is something you can do though:

- install newest clean DMM "factory" image

- try to reproduce the problem

- report bug to DMM

- hope they fix it ;)

DMM will take only bug reports from their own images.

Strange - I have nothing problem on my DM800SE with playback any x264 movies. As I saw on first message - CPU for enigma2 on 54%? There must be different problem, imho...

When I am playback x264 files, CPU is for enigma2 < 24%.

There must be "something" in the h264 bitstream (I assume mkv, so demuxed in software) that triggers the drivers to memory leak. Yes it sounds crazy, but that's the only explanation I have. It might even have to do with the audio track.

Maybe different encoding parameters of the h264 or audio streams?

Maybe less overall memory usage, less epg etc.?

Hello again!

I thougt I knew what the cause of this problem was (drivers) until today when I got the problem back with the old drivers.

I tried to watch Olympus.Has.Fallen.2013.1080p.BluRay.x264-SPARKS.mkv with DTS and subtitles (SRT file)

If i compare that mkv with a mkv file that works i cant see any difference.

Anyone that has any idea what I can try to do??

Update: If i change subtitle to the Build-in sub it works.

Have it been any changes in the subtitle handling?

Yes there has, but not relevant in this context.

You may want to merge the srt file into the mkv then and try.

But it might also be something very low-level, like the number of b-frames, b-pyramid mode etc.

I did as you said and merged the files, mkv and srt together and that worked without any problems.

I used the newest drivers from july.

What can be wrong then?

That must be a problem with gstreamer then. We've updated it not so long ago. Until now we didn't see any negative side-effects though.

Is it possible to do a rollback like I did with the drivers?

No, gstreamer is heavily integrated.

I thougt that it wasnt the drivers that were the problem, gstreamer were the problem or is it the same thing? (sorry for my lack of knowledge)

I also read in another thread that someone was working on a fix but maybe I missunderstood.

Since this was working before this is pretty annoying.

Yes, I thougt the problem was solved then but it came back (see post #28)

Then I merged the srt into the mkv file and it worked so Erik Slagter said it was gstreamer (see post #32).

Just a simple question.... did you try to reflash your complete box to be sure that everything is clean? Just because we do not receive any other reports on this issue (except for VUs).
