Hello,

since some days ago my VU+ Duo restarts when i have an recording going and changes channel on the same time. This is a new behavior i have not seen this before. It might relate to software updates but i am not shure..

I have tried to look in the crash logs but im am not shure waht they say :)

One says:

action ->  EventViewEPGActions openSingleServiceEPG
PC: 7758738c
 00000000 00000001 37713990 775eff80

 776173c0 7feba5f0 00000000 774db1ac

And the other

"/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Converter/ClockToText.py", line 78, in getText
TypeError: an integer is required

Also, the unit has restarted many times and only generated a few enigma crash logs.

Does anyone has a good idea ?

Thanks in advance.

The first one is a segmentation fault (memory access priviledge error), it's very hard to track down.

What does "dmesg" say at that point?

Thanks for the replies,

It is ha hardware problem. The box suddenly gave up totally  with a fried voltage regulator ( apperently standard issue on VU+  :( )

So now i need some replacemet hardware because i defenitely whant to stay with PLi

So, here comes some slightly offtopic questions:

Does anyone now if a new VU+ duo will have better hardware? Dare i buy one more.. ?

Or does VU+ Solo2 fully work with PLi image now , i have read something about problems using both receivers ?

The solo2 has very interesting hardware, is supported by OpenPLi, but has various driver issues (like all other VU+ models).

Is the driver issuses getting better and better over time ( do they fix the problems) or is there "a static situation"?
The duo is more mature i guess but it is a little bit hard to buy the same hardare again ;)

Unfortunately VU+ tends to not fix bugs. There are driver updates every now and then, but a number of serious and less serious bugs have never been fixed.

I had to replace a capacitor in my Vu+Duo, I think it was called C807. See http://openpli.org/f...-you-can/page-2 for details.

It runs great now.

Thanks,

Yes I have now got the VU+  up working again after replacing the C807 capacitor and an AOZ1021Ai voltage regulator ( which had a small crater in it

It was not easy to find the voltage regulator but after some searching I found them on Alixepress ( Shanghai), They sold in batches of 30 so now I have spares for a long time :)

The capacitor is relatively easy to replace but to desolder /solder the surface mounted voltage regulator is not for "faint hearted" if you don’t have it as profession.

Hi boper I've sent you a pm as I'm interested in some of the spare regulators you have.

Look forward to speaking with you. I have the issue of rebooting
