Hi,

is openpli also working on a feature like this?

"added virtual subservices for some HD services"

http://www.i-have-a-...445#post1934445

---

because adding virtual subservices for the german sky sport / bundesliga HD 1-10 channels would be great feature for openpli images. You could zap to sky sport hd1 and switch with green remote button to the virtual subservices

For SD channels this works on PLi, but not for the HD channels...

DMM did fix this closed source in their CPP code and partly in python as far I can see.

I suggest DMM is not willing to publish the fix... So someone in the "open source" community has to reinvent this.

It's not something with "HD" or "SD", because the same mechanism that is used for SD can be used for HD as well, it's a trick in the transport stream. I guess SKY are using this alternative mechanism on purpose to hinder open source receivers. It must be either a proprietary mechanism or one of the fairly new transport stream extensions. Both of them are cumbersome to implement, if even possible, it may need hardware support.

Thank SKY...

I think the broadcom demuxer can handle it, but the access to the specific function of the demuxer may have to go via undisclosed driver access (proprietary).

If only someone with a dmm box would run strace, we would know ;)

Seriously, if someone would do some research and find out how SKY actually multiplexes these channels, that would help enormously.

But as far I can see the most important stuff is hidden in closed source cpp....

Does this also work for "Red Button" services on Sky UK?

Sky Sports uses it.

Red button something else, they're not "sub" services of a channel.

Still there is no relevant information about how it works.
