Hi guys,

After running the latest update within the setup menu, the update downloads/box reboots but then I get no output whatsoever. The LED on the front is permanently blue. I can't FTP into the box and it doesn't register on the network after the latest update.

I've had OpenPLI on my VU+ SOLO for a few months now. The original image on my USB when I first installed OpenPLI is dated 16/06/2013. I have used the update option inside the setup menu a few times previously but the latest update seems brick the box.

I powered off the box and plugged in the USB stick with the image from 16/06/2013 which brings the box back to life. I then updated again but chose the option not to automatically reboot. I then manually rebooted and the box wouldn't output. I can't understand why the box is getting bricked with the latest update. I can't even ftp into it to get the error log.

Any help would be appreciated.

So I have tested all the nightly builds going in order from newest to oldest:

OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130825_usb (Doesn't boot)
OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130824_usb.zip (Doesn't boot)
OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130823_usb.zip (Doesn't boot)

OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130820_usb (Works)

I have also gone back 1 day to test OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130819_usb this works too. I'm not sure what changes were made between the builds 20-23rd August build but there seems to be an issue.

So I went through setup, on the menu to do Satellite scan, switched to manual and nothing happened for a few seconds then crash. Uploaded the crash log.

AttributeError: 'ScanSetup' object has no attribute 'typeOfScanEntry'

And when you skip the scan and perform it later?

Your box is a clone and it wont work with latest drivers.

The setup loaded again this time I chose automatic scan instead of manual and it worked fine. Any idea what was updated between update on 20 & 23?

Take a look in this PDF, from page 15 some clues for clones (in Dutch however)

First give away "black" screws on the back of the receiver.

The upper STB is a clone the lower a genuine one
