Thanks a lot!

I'm testing right now Satdreamgr-4.0-gst1-et9x00-20160816.zip on my ET9200.

 

The image does not recognise TBS5925 by default, I had to install USB and TBS packets. After a reboot I had a crash while configuring the newly found tuner, but on 2nd reboot all seemed set up to continue. Now I am testing on 5ºW. Normal transponders are OK (11591 V) but I can't get any signal on MIS transponders (12627 H, 12648 V). Is this a symptom that I need custom satellites XML file or another problem?

Correct, the image will recognize TBS after you install the driver from menu. If the crash continues please upload the crashlog to have a look.

Also you need custom satellites.xml with MIS/PLS codes (eg from here http://www.satdreamg...OR-MULTISTREAM)

I replaced the satellites.xml file with that one, in etc/tuxbox/  but I didn't see any effect...

 

the tuner does not find any signal, satfinder does not "see" anything either to lock. Only thing that I notice is the box becoming very slow, almost freezing while I'm trying to lock MIS transponders...

 

Any clue?

Well, I have some news.

The box gets very easily in a irresponsive state, but I managed to tune a MIS transponder: 11637 (RAI)

So, the concept seems to be proven that can work!!

 

I will continue to try other transponders and evaluate the stability.

More good news!

The situation has improved very much.

 

First, I copied the satellites.xml not only to etc/tubxbox  but also to etc/enigma2/ and rebooted.

Then, I used a shorter USB cable to connect to ET9200 and used the back USB port rather than the front one.

Finannaly, switched to a bigger dish to eliminate satellite signal issues.

 

I can now tune to pretty much all MIS transponders on 5ºW.

I tested LA Mancha TP on Hispasat, with a small dish and no signal. Will try now with the big one.

 

BTW, this image seems to manage to control my 1.2 diseqc VBOX...

 

So far so good!

You mean, on the normal OpenPli builds? That would be nice, although I'm actually also liking this image

 

Tested just now on Hispasat the "La Mancha" TP with my Famaval 240cm, and also works. As expected, DVB-S2 modulations are more sensitive to lack of signal and LNB quality issues. MIS transponders seem (apparently to me) even a little more sensitive.

I'm currently testing on my ET9200 with Openpli updated as of yesterday.

I don't seem to get the TBS 6925 locking MIS transponders as I did on the test image. The card Is working on normal ones.

 

I did replace the satellites.xml on /etc/tuxbox...

 

What else could be the problem? I suspect wrong driver or packet management/ installation... how can I be sure of this?

The patches for MIS/PLS are not included in OpenPLi 4. They will merged in OpenPLi 5.

Is there an estimate for a first release date of OpenPli 5? What's the best thread to follow that development?

I guess when OpenPLi 5 is out there will be an announcement, and OpenPLi images will become available in frontpage.

At some point when OpenPLi 5 is out MIS/PLS patch will find the way to Enigma2, but not most probably day 0.

4:2:2 has nothing to do with the tuner, so no it won't. Only HW which is capable to decode 4:2:2 will work.

Just tried, only 8bit and 10bit 4:2:0 play

So no 12bit. No 4:2:2. No 4:4:4.

The link seems broken.

There are four versions of OS mini.

S2 or S2 + S2 or S2 + T2/C or T2/C.

All versions using same image and drivers.
