Flashed OpenPLi but still says Black hole on start up..

As the title says, I've flashed PLi onto my Duo2... However before I realised I could get OpenPLi, I flashed Black Hole....

 

Now when it's started it comes up with the very cheesy "Black Hole" start screen before OpenPLi kicks in.

 

As I have just picked up a 1 week ban on the black hole forum (for something I wasn't even aware of, and from a Mod with a power trip..) I would like to remove every single dirty trace of the image from the STB....

 

Shall I try to reflash the image or will that not work?

OpenPLi images don't contain a vendor logo, so you don't erase the existing one when you flash an OpenPLi image.

 

The procedure for removing it is different for very box, and I don't have a Duo2, so I have to pass this question on...

have you got a sata hdd in your box ?? If so use the ftp program of your choice, go to usr directory and see if you've got a file called vuplus. Delete it together with the former and it should be ok.

Hopefully my HDD came today.. If not tomorrow...

 

Didn't realise it was called the start screen. My bad, should have found that...

But you fixed your issue now (by flashing the correct splash-screen)?

ok this is how i did it :

 

i flashed with vti image and then re-flashed with open pli  and blachole startup screen is gone ?

If you look at the files provided by BlackHole and VTI when you unzip the image you will find at least one more file than on OpenPLi image.

This file is there custom bootloader logo.

OpenPLi decide to never replace the bootloader logo some other image does.

 

 

If you search the forum you can perhaps find the manufacturer bootlogo and flash it. It has already been discussed several times on the forum.
