Often that means some streaming has hung.

Yes, if you have started streaming a service, did not stop the streaming properly (this might have several causes), enigma may think you're still streaming even though you're not actually watching anymore. Streaming and recording are handled similarly by enigma, so that's why it's called a "recording" in the popup.

And yes, this is a problem that has been around for ages. Some people never have it, some have it frequently.

The quickest way to solve it, is to restart enigma, no need to restart the receiver completely.

Hello!

I have also the same problem. After a succesfull recording, using timer, I have to reboot (enigma restart isn't enought), then I can again use timeshift or "instant record" again. It shows no errors or any message on the screen that I can¨t use timeshift, it just don't paus the program. But if I try to record a program (pushing red-button) it says the same message as above, "in order to record a timer the tv was switched to the recording service", only a rebooot fixes the problem until next time. Very anoying.

Maybe it is my old dm800 or the usb dvb-t tuner that is the problem?

hmm, and if I put two programs in timer list it only records the first one. Did a pure install with openpli a couple of weeks ago, just in case I had done something stupid, but it didn¨t help.

Any advice would be great
