Hi guys,

I have VU+ Uno, it's connected to TV via HDMI and the analogue audio output to an amplifier. From time to time, the sound gets distorted. Sometimes it gets resolved by switching the channel, or disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable. AFAIR it was the same on PLi 3, now I'm on PLi 4. Didn't test other images.

Can you please advise something, because this is quite annoying. Or is there a way to disable HDMI audio at all? (I do not need it)

Did you try to use the analog output from your TV and see if the problem persists ?

I have exactly the same problem with a VU+ Duo, it seems this problem appeared in september after an OpenPLI/VU+ driver update.

Audio is connected here via analog SCART-output on a standard CRT-television. So, it's definitely not a HDMI-related problem.

 

Maybe downgrading VU+ drivers is a solution, when I have some spare time I'll test. http://archive.vuplu...wnload/drivers/

So, with the drivers from 18th Aug. the issue reappeared. On the TV (connected via HDMI cable) the sound was OK, but it was distorted on the analogue output. 

Here is a recording, in the half I disconnected the HDMI cable and the sound went OK:

petike's solution WORKS :

 

The distorion is present in the analog output of VU+UNO .

No distortion is NOT present in theTV(hdmi) analog output .

 

I just pluged the audio amp to the TV audio output  and get a clean audio all the time.

But I would like to see a solution for the analogue output. I used to listen to radio, too, so using TV's audio out is not a solution for me. 

 

Devs, any idea? I'm open for troubleshooting, this is quite important for me.

You have to report this problem, that's the best chance you've got to get it fixed.

ive reported this problem several times since one year now....

 

NO ANSWER from VU+ support @ their official page.  

 

I write this for all people thinking in buying a linux box:

 

AVOID BUYING VU+ : there provide no technical support for their boxes....

I will try contacting the VU+ dealer who sold me the box :
