@betacentauri,

media playback is a software function too, so if you want to have access to EPG from there, currently that software function would need the code to capture the desired keypress, and call the EPG software function that would popup the EPG overlay.

What I meant with multitasking is that you can ask the window manager to start a new app, no matter what is currently running. Using a standard API. Enigma needs such an API, which exposes all these functions. It also need to expose all operations within these functions. Then, per function, you need to a configurable keymap, like you have now. This would allow you to map for example a button that calls "timer::stop", to stop a running timer recording, from anywhere you can map a key...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Thanks for answer.
And yes, such an API would be great. But I fear it's quite a lot of work and you'll need to adapt "all" must-have plugins or build it that way that old plugins still work...

Thats what I wrote.

It would mean a redesign of the way the Enigma core works, and would mean a goodbye to all the old DMM stuff floating around. Our Enigma would no longer be compatible.

If it would lead to a fundamentally better image, I'm not sure I would mind. In the end it's an STB, not a coffee making machine as some plugin "hoarders" seem to think... ;)

I completely agree with the proposal of PR2 which I find very interesting.

'Compatible' with what?
Or do you mean that all kinds of plugins won't be compatible with that newly developed E2?

If it would lead to a fundamentally better image, I'm not sure I would mind.

Well, hasn't that been the idea of PLi going it's own way from the very beginning?

Finally, after 10 years, there is a man who paid attention to this bug.
Yes, for me that's a bug, because moving the cursor one step above or below the current channel in the channel list can not be called otherwise.
I once described this problem on the Sat-Industry forum many years ago, but no one has given it attention, as at that time in the Enigma was a much more serious problems to deal with them.

And I'm completely agree with the proposal of PR2.

Recently, somewhere in the forum, it was noted that there are still people using neutrino layout. And it was noted with some irony:)
So, this bug is one the main reasons why I prefer the neutrino  layout.

Yes, as I wrote, with all DMM stuff floating around. Every plugin would need to be made OpenPLi compatible. Or in other words, plugins need to be written for the OpenPLi Engima architecture.

If it would lead to a fundamentally better image, I'm not sure I would mind.

Well, hasn't that been the idea of PLi going it's own way from the very beginning?

For E1 it took several years before we decided to go our own way, and even then the structural changes in the core were minimal.

This would mean a complete break with everything else out there, and it would also have a severe impact on everything "based on OpenPLi". Not a decision you would take lightly.

Since it's such a radical change, it might be better to split the Enigma core from the GUI, and completely redesign the GUI separate from the core.

Hi,

Thanks Littlesat to have added the option:

Keep focus on current service while entering servicelist

I really appreciate the effort!

That really sounds like an interesting thought. And also in line with your previous statements about the GUI to be in need of a radical improvement.
Do you think PLi is going down that route?

I think that for the bouquet buttons the up/down should be reverten and indeed the same config could be used when opening the servicelist from the infobar with the bouquet buttons

I've enabled it, I'm very happy :)

Now the up/down keys work exactly equal in both service and file mode, which is logical to me.
