I have a Vu+ Duo which is on the lastest OpenPLI image. Lately quite a few channels have disappeared.

These channels are those who frequency which have changed recently. In the past the new channels have been picked up automatically but now there not. The only way is to do a full scan.

I have not changed any settings. I have double checked and DISABLE BACKGROUND SCANNING is set to NO which its always been.

Any idea on how to fix this problem?

If you are referring to astra 28 east many channels have changed in frequency

Enigma does an automatic background scan of transponders you zap to (unless you have disabled that), which cause new channels to appear in the "all" list.

Problem here is that a new sattelite has been positioned on 28.2, and the channels are being moved to it. Since these are new transponders, you don't zap to them, and therefore no automatic scan happens...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Ah, so will every channel move to this new satellite then? If so, do you know how long it will take?

No (2x).

The different satellites at that position have different beams, so it will be selective. But it is already clear that more channels are moving to the UK spot beam, so more difficult to receive in mainland Europe.

And Astra 2E was only launched on september 29th, and not operational yet, so I expect more to come. Once operational it is going to replace 1N, which is going to be moved to 19.2.

My guess is that the current moves are to make room so that not everything from 1N has to move to 2E and/or the UK spot beam.

Hi,

for UK there are 2(?) plugin which generate bouquets automatically even with frequency changes and they try to keep the channel numbers of the official receivers. ABM from ViX is one of them.

The official receivers get their information on air with something like LCN. I think in Italy they tried to write a plugin which uses the on air information also.

ciao

ABM also works for Sky-IT in the same way.

everybody experiences the same thing, but others do not consider this a problem (they know the reasons why this is happening, and know how to get things working again)
