When trying to install em28xx drivers to OpenPLi 4.0 in Duo2 receiving message:
Collected errors:
' satisfy_depencies_for: cannot satisfy the following depencies for enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-em28xx:
' kernel-module-em28xx-dvb '
' opkg_intstall_cmd: Cannot install package
enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-em28xx.

So, do I have to go back to OpenVix?

Several people have posted about this problem in a few threads (including myself) but no one from the Pli team responded at all.

 

I'm not sure but I'm assuming the modules for kernel 3.3.8  are not available yet.

 

Perhaps a member of the team would reply and put us out of our misery, pretty please.

Obviously this problem doesn't demand the same priority as the 'Up arrow behaviour' issue

 

Attached are all of the IPKs that are installed with Vix, I've installed them all manually and the tuner does now initialize as indicated by the blue led being lit.

 

however the tuner doesn't show in the GUI and so isn't recognised by e2.

 

That's as far as I've got, perhaps someone else can take it from here as I'm stuck.

Installing kernel-module-lgdt330x (3.3.8-r0.9) to root...

I have no idea what the missing 'update-modules' are

Finally got this installed and working 100% the easy way, by using the vix feeds

 

 

If anyone else wants to try this is the way I did it:-

 

1. With FTP go to your /etc folder and rename the opkg folder to opkg.pli


2. Unzip the opkg_vix.zip I attached and copy the opkg folder to /etc


3. With telnet type "opkg update" without the quotes, this will refresh to the vix feeds.


4. now type "opkg install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-em28xx" again without the quotes, now all the required drivers and modules will be installed without error, at least here it did.


5. Now you can rename the opkg folder to opkg.vix (you never know it maybe needed again) and the opkg.pli back to opkg and "opkg update" again to put the feeds back on pli,


6. Of course a reboot is needed.

 

@Pli team I have also attached what appears to be a full set of ipks this time in case you want to do something with them.

@Pli team I have also attached what appears to be a full set of ipks this time in case you want to do something with them.

 

What are the chances of getting native support for the 290e on solo2 (and other vu+ boxes) in OpenPli?  - Based on the above, it appears to be possible given the right ipks.

This is the last thing missing for me since Dolby Digital Plus got fixed with the new drivers yesterday (assuming that passthrough of multi-channel HE-AAC will work when I tune in to some DVB-T channels :-)

Works on vu duo aswell follow jakey's instructions but use the opkg file edited for vu+duo below.

Duo2 was missing kernel modules but currently those modules included on the build.

Did you face problems using OpenPli kernel modules on Duo and you follow this "old workaround"?

Still a newby at this. all I did was edited jakey's files followed his instructions and it works.

Maybe try a reflash and just install driver from OpenPLi.

opkg update
opkg install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-em28xx

I did try installing the driver em28xx off the new open pli 4 image I installed today but they did not work.

Then, we are missing patches..

opkg info enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-em28xx

Will also show sources used to build kernel module. If patches are public, someone can bring them to OpenPLi.

(Why OpenPli has such a gap in DVB-T stick...)
