Do you install the driver for the chipset from the feed?

Openpli doesn't include any pre-installed drivers for USB device so you need to install it.

Disconnect your stick, connect to it via telnet, connect the USB stick do a:

dmesg

Check the detected chipset and then install the appropriated driver from the menu, reboot the box.

if you try 'lsusb' , you'll get a list of usb devices detected complete with usb id.  If your device is an Avermedia A835, it will have an ID which looks something like 07ca:a835.

However, Avermedia have been a bit naughty and used the same model number (A835) for several quite different devices!  The latest device they call A835 actually has a detected ID of 07ca:3835 and this device uses the it913x drivers.  IIRC earlier A835 models have a different usb ID and use the af9035 drivers.

Even if you get the correct chipset drivers (it913x or af9035), they still may not work if the usb ID is not yet included in the drivers or kernel symbols.

I suggest you try each of the drivers (it913x and af9035) and hope that one works.  If neither works then it is likely that a patch to the drivers in order to support your device will be required.  Providing such a patch is beyond my ability....

Good luck

Bad luck... this device is not yet directly supported... therefore you would have to patch.

Good luck... someone has developed a patch... https://bbs.archlinu...258695#p1258695

(Hope I'm not breaking the rules with this link to another forum?)

Cheers.

Check instructions here http://www.linuxtv.o...Cap_DVB_T_Stick Maybe 3.2 kernel needs patches to support that stick. Kernel 3.5 and beyond is ok according to the page.

Try the following from telnet (or dcc or ssh)
opkg update
opkg install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-af9035
reboot
OpenPLi (probably) is already patched for this USB stick.
Wavefield T90: 0.8W - 1.9E - 4.8E - 13E - 16E - 19.2E - 23.5E - 26E - 33E - 39E - 42E - 45E on EMP Centauri DiseqC 16/1

Well, i checked the drivers for support for the 15a4:1001 device by loading the driver above and checking the /lib/modules/3.3.8-2.0/modules.alias file.

It appears that af9035 drivers cover the following devices:

...

alias usb:v07CApB835d*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip* dvb_usb_af9035
alias usb:v07CApA835d*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip* dvb_usb_af9035

alias usb:v15A4p1000d*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip* dvb_usb_af9035

...

So... the advice from athoic should do the trick.

Please let us know whether this solves your problem.
