OMG !

did you take a look at http://sourceforge.n...ci/master/tree/ and the license files ?

you know fork is not something for eating spaghetti it's a git thing !

I know what fork means. And ownership. This is what I said..GPL is used for coverup.

Facts for facts..not stories.

so DMM used GPL for covering what exactly in the first place ?

may i laugh now ?

Have you ever heard of principle of giving and taking ?

It should be in your DNA..it grows in you after you are born.

I guess..you are only after the taking part..not giving.

What DMM was trying to cover is their business. However Openpli was supporting DMM since inception,

and now suddenly they change their mind. I thought we are discussing Openpli situation.

Leave the DMM discussions for DMM board. Start laughing and when you do that look in the mirror. :D

Openpli team, you have chosen not to answer this but please clear your arguments.

They are not as truthful as you are trying to sell here.

@ pop_eye: maybe you never realised that:

1-Enigma2 is not a DMM development: it was based on Open Source software and the development was largely supported by the open community. And yes, indeed: also DMM-devs were involved.

2- In spite of that DMM tried to claim copyright on the name E2

3- DMM announced proudly on their website that they were going to sue VU+ for using 'their' software; after loosing the case no announcement has ever been made (or I must have missed it). But instead

4- As a reaction on the lost case they 'closed' the license of their firmware (against the license itself, as explained above).

I think this says it all (in a nutshell).

Apart from the fact that both hard- and software-development seems to have ceased years ago. Since the DM8000 has been released they left all development to their competitors, who gratefully jumped into the hole in the market left by DMM.

Referring to an posting I made previously in Prismcube topic, to continue the idea.

Development of Enigma2 has not ceased as you may think. And you can see that in the current closed enigma2 branch as well as in Openpli

which have used the older source to improve on them - nothing bad with that.

Not discussing about the event view bars as one poster was trying to make as great addition but other features relating to dvb.

example: blindscan support,  new tuxtxt, usage of libvbi etc.) and other "small" things we all consider as necessary for an stb.

@ SatKiekerd - why you are not considering that as true development instead of nice skins and blinking lights with nice oled and graphics ?

dm8000 hardware was used as reference for competitors but even at today standards there are not many stbs available to compete for its status.

Why is that ? And you consider Vuplus as true developers..take another guess.

This is where all started: dm8000 entered the market and monikers waiting around the corner to grab the source code and run.

Is that true development ...they now call opensource ?

Let`s see who is laughing now.

I have no idea why you ask me that? I'm only used to using boxes/images having all those features and I'm not in the least interested in bling-bling.

But my gut feeling tells me that we're a bit off-topic here .....

I think all has been said and this can only end in a nasty way.
So I decided to close this topic.
